Chapter 23

Percy POV

We've been hiking up the mountain for an hours now. My feet were aching. I looked ready to drop but Annabeth and Gemma looked like they could go on for hours. How do they do that?

"Okay we need to sneak in. There are too many monsters at the front and back entrances." said Gemma

"How do you know?" I asked confused

"Powers" was all she said

Annabeth closed her eyes and concentrated.

"Can you sense a secret passage?" asked Gemma

"There's one on our left" she replied

She walked there with us following behind.

She stopped in front of an old well.

"We need to go in" she said

"Is there like stairs?" I asked

"Nope" she replied

Without a word Annabeth jumped onto the ledge and jumped in.

"ANNABETH!!!" I screamed

"I'm fine" she replied

I sighed in relief.

"Come on it's not too far in."

I got on the ledge and jumped in.

Not too far in my foot.

I crashed onto the ground while Annabeth just laughed at me and helped me up.

"Not too far in huh?" I asked sarcastically

"It's not" she protested

Gemma dropped in and landed swiftly on her feet.

"Are you kidding me?" I asked

Annabeth let out a laugh.

"It's not that funny!" I whined

"You're right. It's hilarious!!!" she exclaimed

"Are we going yet?" asked Gemma impatiently

"We're going" said Annabeth

We walked quietly but quickly.

Then we reached the end.

We were in a cavern.

Monsters were guarding the exits but they were too far away too see us.

Thalia, Nico and Zac were tied up.

They didn't look harmed.

Omega and Caleb on the other hand was tied up in a corner.

They were bloody and bruised.

Annabeth and Gemma gasped and immediately ran towards them.

They got their weapons out and cut their bonds.

I raced to the others and cut their bonds with Riptide.

"Thanks" said Nico

"No problem" I replied

"The ring. It's on the staff." said Zac

I looked for it and my eyes met Annabeth. She safely stored it in her cloak.

She looked at us and mouthed lets go.

We ran towards her.

She was carrying Caleb while Gemma supported Alpha.

We bolted towards the exit.

"Going somewhere sister?" asked a voice.
