I'm not sure where to stand in Chase's hospital room. With Audrey shooting daggers my way and Chase yelling and hollering in between throwing up, I don't know where to go.
I'm here to support Gabe, but I also want to be there for Audrey and Chase. If they would just let me. I love Gabe, he has helped me and my kids so much these past couple of years. He misses his kids and loves them beyond measure, I know. I wish they could see how much. But they choose not to see.
I know divorce is an extremely difficult thing to get through. My parents divorced when I was in the 4th grade. But sometimes a step-parent can bring good. My step-father really is amazing and he taught me so much. I just want Audrey and Chase to give me a chance. To really try to be a family. Not a replacement, just an extension.
I feel like I can't even approach Chase's bed, that I'll just be shunned. So, I just sit in the uncomfortable chair in the corner and quietly support the man I love.
