Tomorrow is finally my 17th birthday and as a tradition for female coming-of-age vampires, my parents are gonna hold a gala party. It's tradition also to choose who is going to bite you, but in my case, I'm still unsure of who I'm gonna choose. Usually, people choose family members but lately, I've been having this weird feeling that something bad was going to happen soon...

It was already around lunch time, my friends and my mom were helping me getting ready.
"Sweetie, the dress you've chosen is beautiful!"
"Good thing we pushed her to buy it" Aliya said.
"Yeah, she was overthinking it the whole time" Sungyeon added.
The dress was of a glittery dusty blue, off shoulder and the details were cream color laces and white designs.

"Yeah, it is pretty. I have to admit it"
"Obviously the one in it is prettier" Soomin said.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes I guess?"
"Let's go, my daughter. The guests are waiting" my mom said as we went out of the room and got to the gala room.

When I entered, the host announced it and introduced also my friend group.
"Let's all welcome the birthday girl, miss Lee Jiwoo, her mother and her friends, Park Sungyeon, Wang Aliya, Lee Soomin and Hong Daeyang. A round of applause please" and everyone clapped.
Mom and Dad then took me around to greet some of the most important guests before I could go and talk to my friends.

"Ji!"
"Oh god! Junkyu oppa! I thought you couldn't make it!"
"Me? Missing my only female cousin's coming of age?"
"I missed you!" I said hugging him.
"I missed you too, Ji" he said hugging back.
"You look wonderful, Ji"
"Thanks Won, the girls convinced me to get it. You guys look amazing!"

The boys were all wearing the same clothes: black pants, white shirt and a dark grey padded vests (the I-LAND uniforms). Geonu was wearing white pants and a black tuxedo with golden details (A/n: let's pretend he wore what Sunghoon wore for the up Ver of border carnival)

Nicho instead had black pants, a white shirt and a black and white jacket with silver details on the black part and faint gold on the white one (A/n: just think of The Boyz Sangyeon's stage outfit for Checkmate during RTK)

Sungyeonie wore a white shirt with loose puffy long sleeves and golden buttons, a black gown with a mini corset and a black ribbon. Aliya got something more simple, a white blouse and a black knee-length skirt with suspenders.

Daeyang wore a similar gown as Sungyeon, but hers had black and silver details and on top she wore a black shirt. While Soomin wore a cream white blouse and on top of it a dress that's similar to a suit.

"Nervous lil sis?"
"Kinda"
"Ay Don't be, Ji" Heeseung said.
"Yeah! It's just gonna sting a bit but nothing to cry about" Yeonkyu said as he was bitten 4 months ago.
"Don't worry babe, I'll be there with you later. Your parents asked me"
"That's a relief" I said smiling softly at him and he did the same.
"I think we should give the couple some time alone"
"Which one?" Heeseung said looking at Soomin who just walked away towards her twin brother.

It's been already a year and a half and they're still bickering with each other, even though we all know they like one another.
"Aight let's go" Aliya said dragging away the guys leaving Nicholas and I alone.
"What's bothering you? I can sense you're worried about something"
"I don't know babe, I've been having this feeling for a while... A bad feeling..."

"Is it about your coming of age?"
"Not only..."
"Aw my princess is so adorable when worried. Now come here and give me a hug. Don't worry, everything will turn out fine" He said patting my back to calm me.
"Jiwoo?"
"Hm?"

"I love you so much, you can't even imagine. I can't believe a year passed already. You're literally the best thing that could've happen to me. I know you're not feeling well right now but I want you to know that you're my favorite person ever, my safe place, my treasure, my moonlight and all the prettiest things you could ever imagine. Thank you for existing and being mine, you've changed me for the better and I will never be able to repay you"

"You're not superstitious, so imma just say this now. Happy birthday my love. Thank you for everything, I love you so much Lee Jiwoo"
"I love you too Wang Yixiang"
He then pulled me closer and leaned in for a kiss. It felt way different from the others, as if he poured everything he wanted to say in it but just couldn't through words.

Soon it was almost midnight, the time I'll have to announce who will bite me and proceed with the ritual. The host, my family and my boyfriend went to the main area of the hall "Dear guests, may I have everyone's attention? Thank you! Now, as tradition says, the birthday girl will now announce the chosen one who will turn her into one of us" the host explained as he handed me his mic.

"Here's the mic, miss Lee Jiwoo"
"Thank you. First of all, since I'll pass out not long after I'll get bitten, I'll take this opportunity to thank everyone who came to my coming of age ceremony. I'd like to thank my friends for always being here for me, my parents for making me grow into the girl I am today and my brother for always caring for me"

Everyone started clapping their hands and cheering, when a male figure teleported in the middle of the first row in the hall. He was wearing a black Venetian mask with silver details and he was hiding something behind his jacket...
