My heart pounding in my chest. I can hear him behind me, chasing me. I run faster, I drop onto all fours, I can run faster this way. He screams my name.

A light is in the distance. I run towards it. I can still hear him behind me. Then the footsteps stop. I slow down some, just enough to catch my breathe.

I look behind me, he's gone. Or at least he's turning around now. I sit against a tree. My chest rising and falling hard and fast. My lungs hurt from running, but I did it. I escaped.

That was my old master, you see, he's a horrible, horrible man. I was beaten everyday by him.

Masters are supposed to take care of their nekos, love them, hold them, pet them, feed them. Not torture, not abuse, not starve them. But thats what he didn't to me.

I'm covered in scars and open wounds, purple and blue bruises cover my body.

I slowly creep my way towards the light. It's a good distance from me. It'll take me awhile but I'll make it, hopefully.

I jump at every stick snap or rock rolling. I pause when I hear a voice. A familiar voice, my master's.

Panic shoots through my body. I walk slower, trying my best to stay completely quiet. I dodge any sticks or stones in my path.

An annie-rose hits my bare stomach. I bit my lip as the torn digs into an open wound.

I carefully saw the branch away from the bush with my claw. I try to pull the torned limb out but it hurts too much. I can't risk any noise.

I leave the limb in my wound, which hurts a lot, but again, can't make noise.

The voice dies down the farther I go. I let out a breathe, I didn't know I was holding.

I lean against a tree and work of the torned limb. I withdraw my claws. I carefully touch the torn. I bite my lip just in case he's still around.

I pull the limb out gently as I can. Which isn't too gentle. This wouldn't hurt as bad if I didn't have a gapping hole in my stomach.

I finally get the branch out. Blood seeps through the wound.

I quickly rip off on my "shirt" I'm wearing. It used to be a shirt. Now it's kinda a piece of ragged cloth on my body. I'm also wearing a ragged cloth that you could call shorts. But it barely staying on me.

Anyway, I wrap the cloth around my midsection to help the bleeding.

The light is closer now than it was earlier, but that's how walking works. You move closer to something it gets closer. Crazy ain't?

With my luck it'll be a lighthouse or a hunting blind. But maybe, hopefully it's a house.

The stalk closer. A twig snaps under my foot. I freeze but sigh in relief when I hear no sounds.

As I get closer and closer, I can see what it is. It's a house. I have a chance of survival. Unless they send me away. God, please don't let them send me away.

It's looks to be small cottage type house. It's a cute little house, or at least in my opinion. Though honestly, any house is cute compared to what I escaped from.

I get to the front yard of the house. There's a light in one of the windows. I see three men inside the house.

One is at the sink, washing dishes I guess. He was sporting a light blue shirt with a grey hoodie(?) around his neck. And round glasses fit his face.

The second was the tallest. Was sporting a black button, blue and black tie and big, black, square glasses.

The last one was wearing a white shirt with red sleeves. 'Prince' was written in gold, cursive, lettering.

I open the gate quietly, I don't know why, habit I guess.

I've been dizzy this whole time but it's getting a lot worse. Blood lose maybe.

I make it the front door, I knock, I feel myself fall, then everything goes black.

Am I safe?
