(Y/n) leaned her head on her arms which were placed on the windowsill right beside her bed. She knew she should be sleeping - dawn would come running in about 7 hours and she definitely did not want to miss breakfast by sleeping in. However, it wasn't like she wanted to stay up late, she just couldn't sleep for a reason no one will ever know.
The girl stared at the dark night sky, imperfectly yet beautifully dotted with glowing stars that sparkled down at her. Her lips curled into a smile as her fingers reached upwards and started connecting one spot to another - almost as if she was doodling on the pitch-black blanket that enveloped the atmosphere.
An unexpected breeze sent chills down her spine yet she didn't mind.
(Y/n) sighed, wondering what to do next. Perhaps I should get a late-night snack? Or maybe go outside? It sure is a lovely night.
She ran a hand through her hair, starting to make a move towards the door of her small bedroom. She gently tugged it open, careful not to make a single noise while doing so. After tiptoeing down the corridor, she sat and slid down the railings of the stairs, continuing her journey to the kitchen.
Hm.. a glass of milk would do, she thought, quickly reaching out to grab the said item from the counter and popping the cap open. Pouring the liquid into a nearby cup, the girl chugged down the contents in silence - zoning out as a few minutes passed by.
What next? I still don't feel sleepy at all, (Y/n) groaned, leaning against the nearest surface.
...
Clank.
What was that? The night owl stood up straight in alert, her eyes quickly looking around the room. Weirdly, nothing seemed out of place.
That's strange... and I was starting to feel drowsy too. Now I've got to stay up either way.
She moved across the floor, silently entering the living room, spotting a black shape wriggling on the ground. The second-year raised her eyebrows.
"Hm", she mumbled, pulling out her wand as she approached it. The form starting to move even faster. "Xipe-"
"(Y/N) IT'S ME, it's me- it's Ginny, it's me."
The black item flew open to reveal that it was in fact, Ginny Weasley. Panicking and sweaty. Under a suspicious-looking blanket. At 11 pm in the pitch black night. Doing God knows what.
"Oh. Ginny. I was just about to tie you up- Are you hurt? You tripped, did you not? I thought it was an intruder. I'm sorry, hold on. What exactly are you doing at this hour?" (Y/n) frowned, giving the younger girl a hand.
Ginny sighed at her words, feeling herself being pulled onto her feet, "No, I'm not hurt - I'm just very clumsy at times. And nothing really.. I was just about to go outside."
She glanced around the room, looking anywhere but the young Sylferth's eyes. (Y/n) cocked a brow, "And why in the world would you do that?"
Ginny hummed, pondering, "Do you really want to know? I suppose I don't mind if you tag along with me."
"Tag along with you? I'm not sure what you're thinking about but isn't it dangerous for us to be alone at night? Especially outdoors."
"No, it really isn't. Trust me. Besides, if anything happens to you, I'll take full responsibility for it. I-I'll try my best to protect you."
(Y/n) chuckled, "Well look at you being all rough and tough - you're acting quite differently from the first time I met you."
Ginny gulped at that. That's not true, I'm still as nervous as I was before, (Y/n) - she wanted to say. But she said nothing at all.
