A snake silently coiled around a tree, watching the young girl with (h/c) hair, and (e/c) eyes as she beamed at the sky through her bedroom window. She appears to be deep in thought, subconsciously playing with a strand of her locks. The curious reptile observed her from afar, only slithering back into its tree trunk as quickly as it could, when the girl stopped her train of thought, and picked up the book that laid next to her. The History of Hogwarts, it read.

The girl was called (Y/n), named after her mother's best friend, in honor. (Y/n), who was the only child of the Sylferth family. (Y/n), who had huge responsibilities on her shoulders, considering how big their reputation is. They were quite a popular family among all the wizarding households since they were the only group of people left, in relation to the great and mighty Edern, a fearsome wizard who roamed the land of the magical. Anyway.

Today was the day she was supposed to get her Hogwarts letter, and needless to say, she was pretty overjoyed - but still worried. Of course, who wouldn't be? Everyone wants one, do they not? She couldn't help but wonder why it hasn't arrived yet, and whether they've refused to accept her or not.

Just then, in contrast to her anxiety, a beautiful white snowy owl pierced through the clouds, and landed on her window sill, diminishing all the negativity that ran through her mind a few seconds ago. Holding up its right leg, the milky bird hooted softly at her.

"Thank you, Elmo," the owner whispered, hurriedly unfolding the envelope.

Reading the contents of the words in ink, (Y/n) gasped lightly in happiness, her eyes widening as the signature on the hand-written note, proved her thoughts.

She quickly grabbed the new arrival between her fingers, and ran out of her room, prancing along the corridors, and into her parents' shared space.

Her mother could be seen brushing her hair, while her dad put on his long black coat. It seemed as if they were going out.

"What is it, hun? What got you all happy?" asked (F/n) as he noticed her practically dance through the hallways, grinning.

"Oh father, we both know why! I got my letter - it says I got in," sung (Y/n), excitedly waving the said object in the air.

"That's wonderful, darling. We were hoping it'd arrive this morning. Come. Let's read it together," (M/n) smiled, placing her hairbrush down before walking over.

The three family members excitedly sat on the bed, the pair of parents hugging their daughter while the man opened the letter.

When all three finished reading the entire list, they squealed like little kids getting their Christmas gifts as (Y/n) jumped around, hand clasped in hand.

"The 1st of September? Oh I simply can't wait until then!" she squealed, grabbing her loved ones' arms to start twirling around in pure happiness.

The older ones just laughed, joining her on the bedroom floor, and soon enough, all three were dancing, and clapping in excitement.

After the mini celebration, (Y/n) happily rushed to her room, and quickly got a parchment, a quill, and some ink to write a short letter to the professor. Making sure she included how she received the envelope in one piece, she rechecked to make sure her handwriting was neat, and quickly attached the parchment to her beloved owl's tiny leg. As if on cue, the snowy bird took off into the sky, and the written note disappeared along with it.
