Sabin's mind went blank.

I look like King Yua?

"I didn't mean to offend," Fatima said. "Maybe my Standard is imperfect."

"No, you're, I mean, it's perfect," Sabin said. "I look like the King of Yua?"

She waved her hand. "It was a passing thought. Do not pay it any mind."

Leena poked Sabin's shoulder. "Wouldn't that be something? You're an orphan, right? Just like in those hero novels, 'the long lost son of the king appears and takes the throne from his evil brother'."

Fatima averted her eyes. "I must quell such a sentiment. There is only one possible heir permitted at a time. Any other possible princes would have been killed as a baby."

Leena shuddered. "Well, that's morbid."

"It is the way things have always been. There can only be one Reincarnation of Yua at a time. Bad things have happened when there are multiple heirs."

"So if the Queen gets pregnant, they just off the baby?"

"Or the current Reincarnation if he has been determined unworthy." She waved her hands. "It is no matter, the birth rate within the Yuan nobility is so low, that I cannot remember a time in recent history it has been necessary."

"Or they've just gotten better about hiding it."

Sabin's mind wandered. He had never allowed himself to dwell on his birth parents.

Anyone who would have given me away isn't worth the mental energy.

A knocking at the door announced the others' arrival and jarred him from his thoughts. Sakima lead the group, Turrent, Kianna and Alaina in tow.

Fatima bowed. "Hidenka! It is an honor to meet you. I would have given you the money at no charge."

"Please rise," Sakima said. "Do not worry, my friends are capable of handling their own affairs."

"Of course." She rubbed her chin. "I apologize to leave you all so suddenly, but I must go take care of a few things. Sekou will see to your arrangements."

Sakima nodded and the M.G. swished away, dress clinging to each movement.

"You were in here drooling over this one?" Kianna spat at Sabin.

Great. Now she's having an angry spell.

Leena winked. "Actually, he was the perfect gentlemen." She pointed to Turrent. "More than I can say for that one."

Sakima patted Turrent on the shoulder. "I can see the appeal. You should go for it."

"You're serious?" Turrent squinted. "While we're saving the world, I'm supposed to try and bed the nearest one I can get?"

"Is there a rule against doing both? If so, Sabin and Kianna have ignored it."

Sabin reddened.

"Leave the poor kid alone," Leena said. "From the sounds of Kianna's moans, at least he's capable."

Not helping.

"Eww!" Alaina said. "Can we not discuss this?"

Leena blushed. "Forgot you were there. It's just a special hug and-"

"Leena," Sakima said. "Don't insult her intelligence."

Alaina rolled her eyes.

Sekou cleared his throat. Six servants stood behind him.
