GOODBYE

Iris' POV

Weeks passed, months even, but I'm still the same lost girl that I was after coming home from Paris.

Hell seemed to be following me wherever I go. I tried my best to find David. I hired numerous professional investigators, people I could pay just to track him down, but until now, not a single person can give me an address or telephone number.

I even tried using dating apps, hoping to see him, though of course my time was just wasted after a long and tiring search. Sobrang daming David sa buong mundo. It's a very common name.

"Where are you?" I desperately mumbled.

It was like David never existed, as if he was just a part of my dream.

It's quite funny actually. For days, I started questioning myself if he's even real. Was I losing my mind due to stress? Is there really no David?

But then I keep remembering the night we spent together, how magical it was. I could still feel his warm touch, his hot breath and those burning gaze.

I know in my heart that David exists. I just can't find him.

"Ris, come on. Magmumukmok ka na naman ba dito sa kwarto mo? I mean, ano ba kasing problema at nagkakaganyan ka? You're always quiet." Caylee pouted.

"Kailan ba ko naging magulo?" tanong ko.

"Okay, fair enough. But my point is, mas malala ka na ngayon. You're just shy before but now? You're mind's always somewhere else."

Tinitigan ko siya at huminga ng malalim.

Caylee's a really good friend. Palagi siyang pumupunta dito tuwing weekends upang makipag-bonding sa akin. She and rest of my girl-friends are all worried and I admit, I almost told them about David.

Pero ewan ko ba. Hindi ko talaga kayang ipaalam sa kahit na kanino ang problema ko. I don't have the guts to share to them what I did because they have never did such thing. Yeah, we like to party but a one night stand? That's so below them.

Kaya ito, sinasarili ko na lang. Magisa akong naghahanap sa isang lalake hindi matagpu-tagpuan.

"I'm just tired," I lied.

"You've been tired for six months." She frowned. "Why don't you join me and Aaron on our date today? We're going to the beach. Come with us."

Sinagot na nga pala ni Caylee si Aaron. We all saw that coming since they've been inseparable for the past couple of days.

"Ayokong maging third wheel." I smiled. "Alam mo, masyado kang nagaalala sa wala. Ayos nga lang ako, wala lang talaga ako sa mood gumala o mag-shopping. Sobrang dami nating pinagaaralan kaya nade-drain out ako."

She crossed her arms and sighed. "You're such a bad liar."

"If it'll make you feel relieve, fine. Sasama na ko sa gig ni Kiel mamayang gabi."

Kiel likes to sing but he never takes it seriously so we were kinda surprised when he told us he's going to sing with a band tonight. Noong isang araw pa nila ako niyayaya but I kept on declining their offer.

"Talaga? Sure 'yan?" Caylee beamed with happiness.

"Yup. I'll get my outfit ready." I assured her.
