CHAPTER 52
UPRIGHT
Iris' POV
"I can't believe we're graduating today!" naiiyak na sambit ni Tiffany sabay yakap sa akin ng mahigpit. I laughed at her fake cries.
"Yeah, me too. I'm so proud of us," I mumbled, hugging her back. It's been a long journey.
"Nakakalungkot lang, hindi na tayo palagi magkikita. We're all going to be busy adults after tonight," Caylee pouted, joining the hug.
"Let's have a pact. Magkikita kita pa rin tayong lahat atleast once a month, no matter how busy we are," Ava decided.
"Deal! I'd love that!" Naomi cheered.
"You girls are such drama queens!" Asher shouted.
Sabay sabay naming nilingon ang kakarating lang na mga boys. Suot suot na rin ang mga toga nila. It's a sight I'll never forget. I'm really happy we all made it this far.
Lahat kami may mga medals na matatanggap, though I'm no longer graduating as the summa cum laude. Dahil sa mga naging problema ko ay medyo napabayaan ko ang pagaaral ko. Hindi kasi ako nakapag-concentrate ng maayos sa last exams ko dahil na rin sa break up namin ni Dash.
We had closure but still, it affected my emotional health. Dating him for a year is no joke. I invested so much emotion and time into our relationship, only to see it collapsed on the ground.
I guess the only upside of ending things while we're still in good terms is that Dash and I are still friends. Minsan nagte-text pa rin siya at nangangamusta pero hindi na katulad ng dati. I barely know what he's doing these past couple of days.
"Nakaraos rin sa hirap," pagtawa ni Rios na tumabi sa akin at umakbay pa. I just smiled at him.
"So anong plano mamaya? Didiretso ba tayo sa party?" Kiel asked with a bored tone. Pinapaikot niya ng daliri ang graduation cap niya na tila ba bola ng basketball ang hawak niya.
The Elite society will be throwing a graduation party for us. Tita Kenzie volunteered to be the host.
"Can you guys not forget that our parents would be there? We can't be late," Tiff pointed out. "Pupunta naman kayong lahat 'di ba?"
My eyes noticed how Zin looked at Caylee when Tiff asked that question. Hindi na kasi sila nagkabalikan simula nang magkahiwalay sila. Nalaman man ni Caylee ang totoo ay napagdesisyonan niya pa ring wag na ituloy ang relasyon nila. But of course Zin is still hoping.
Tingin ko rin may pagasa pa para maayos ang pagkakamali niya. Alam kong mahal pa rin siya ni Caylee. Nasaktan lang talaga ito ng sobra kaya hindi pa handang makipagrelasyon ulit.
"Syempre naman. Tinatanong pa ba 'yan?" Evan said as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.
