your quirk always held a fascination with him because he could never really figure it out himself before you started dating

you seemed to show up with a new quirk every day

one time when he was fighting you in a group battle, he tried to trap you in his ice and he was sure he had hit you but somehow you were never caught

then you were on top of the mountain of ice he created and used it to cut out shanks, daggers, and other sharp objects to throw at him

it made his head spin trying to figure you out

did you have two quirks like him? how were they connected? what were those hand movements you were doing? were you speaking a different language while fighting?

every question only drew him closer to you

he learned that your quirk was called 'conjure' and its main ability put you into trance-like, meditative states that would show you incantations and their gestures

you would learn how to conjure different abilities but first, you had to learn how to induce and control these states

he found your resolution to this control to be very calming

you'd sit in your room almost every night and meditate to find new abilities, the ambiance complete with candles and incense

you did this so during the day you could practice what you learned from these meditative sessions

he didn't like to bother you but you didn't seem to mind if he sat in your room with you

actually, you find his room to be rather comfortable and serene so sometimes you'd be in there

he was the perfect person to have there with you, mostly because he could stay quiet and not be a distraction

but these meditative periods had time limits, depending on your energy level and mental capacity

some nights you wouldn't find anything new and you would get frustrated over how much energy you wasted

he would be there to comfort you about it and remind you not to push yourself too hard and how you're already quite strong and capable with what you know

these sessions often left you extremely fatigued afterward, which is why you'd do them at night

so he'd make sure that you were comfy in bed and not falling asleep on the floor of your room like he had found you a few times in the past

if you're in his room he doesn't bother taking you back to yours and gets you comfy in his futon with him

he often catches himself grinning wide when he gets to fall asleep with you

he's just lucky to have an amazing s/o

he loves absolutely everything about you but your quirk was truly something special

it was similar to his own but also had much more potential

'shift' let you transfigure your soul into basically whatever your human body would allow

you like to change into an animal of some sort because it's the most versatile

also because other transformations could literally shift you to another reality or place in time

you can also transmute inanimate objects into other living things

his favorite was when you'd turn cherry blossom petals into butterflies because you know how much he likes them

he finds that your quirk really suits you because you're so cute and adorable

he really admires how curious you can get about what you can shift

like the one time when you were trying to turn inanimate objects into food so he would never run out of things to eat while fighting

but sometimes it worries him what you put your body through with your shifting

your back ached a lot from being in a bent-over position for so long when you shifted into four-legged animals

or sometimes you couldn't even lift your arms after changing into some kind of bird

not matter how much you reassured him that you'd be fine, he'd want to help out somehow

like reminding you to stretch or giving you back rubs after training

if he was feeling especially anxious or sad about something, he could always count on you to make it better

you would shift into a cat without him knowing and would find him, acting as if it were a stray

you'd rub up against his leg and jump into his lap to get his attention for him to pet you

you'd make sure to purr a lot so that it lowers his blood pressure

he'd figure you out it was you though as your eyes are a dead giveaway and he'd recognize them anywhere

nevertheless, he appreciates the gesture that you would use your quirk to make him feel better

but nothing beats holding your human form in his arms
