WHAT GAVE NINI THE idea to talk through this now? She hadn't wanted to last week, he specifically remembered that she gave him a hug that made EJ jealous. He knew that it wasn't on purpose, Nini always meant the best.
Nini refused to stop forcing the conversation, "You don't take sleeping pills. You just lied to Miss Jenn's face."
"I know," Ricky snapped, "but what makes that your business?" He was getting fed up and he knew she probably was too, despite how hard she was trying to hide it.
"We agreed that we'd stay best friends," Nini smiled, trying to keep the conversation going, "I miss you."
"I miss you too."
Ricky was not missing Nini at all, he was dreading even being in the same room as her for more than two minutes. He still cared about Nini, of course, they had too much history for them to just forget about each other like that.
But, the last time they were together wasn't pretty and he wasn't going to let Nini pretend like it was 'nothing.' He couldn't forget it and no amount of sweet talk and hugs were going to change anything.
"Ricky?" Nini's fingers snapped in his face, "I was just asking how you were."
If she wanted to know she wouldn't have been ignoring his texts for two months.
