A round of applause followed the end of the song and everyone clapped. There were a couple of cheers as Ricky grabbed his girlfriend's waist, pulling her in for a small kiss on the cheek.
EJ clapped with everyone else, trying to swallow the pit in his stomach. "Whoo!" It had been a week since New Year's Eve━Nini told him things with Ricky weren't going so well. Yet, here they were kissing and hugging in front of his face.
Gina, next to him, put a hand on his shoulder comfortingly. She didn't know what was going on with him but he had been kinda...off lately.
"Is the truce getting the best of you? Don't tell me you're giving him a bag of snakes."
"Close━box of spiders, actually." EJ held up the box in his hand, shaking it. Gina could barely hear anything. He chuckled, "No...I got him something."
"You okay?" Gina asked. "You've been so quiet. Usually, you're cheering the loudest at a party."
"I'm good...but I'm at a party for Ricky Bowen so...barely."
