EJ WAS CONTINUING TO hate Marcus Mayfield more and more with each hour. Seeing him incessantly trying to make a statement of some kind by hanging out with Ricky was nauseating.

And it had only been four days.

He desperately wanted to do something about it but he knew he couldn't. Not if he didn't want Ricky to find out. He had meant what he said when he needed space. Ricky deserved more and he couldn't give that to him. He grimaced watching themgoing through the song Gaston for the hundredth time now.

"Fabulous again, boys!" Miss Jenn called from her seat, clapping her hands, "you two have amazing chemistry."

Urgh. EJ wanted to be sick, did she really have to use that word? Marcus shot an over-pleased look his way and he wanted to crawl into a hole and die. His whole chest seized, his brows crossed and if looks could kill, Marcus would be deader than dead.

"You should come over to my place," Marcus bumped Ricky on the shoulder, "we should hang out after school."

"I don't know," Ricky looked over to EJhe immediately looked the other way. "Um...yeah, maybe. I don't think I'd get along with all of your friends, though. I'm not really a theatre kid."

"Who said it was with all my friends? I said we should hang out," Marcus smiled, bumping his shoulder again, "C'mon, Bowen. It'll be fun."
