AS LUCK WOULD HAVE it, EJ ended up needing Ricky the following week. He'd called him up on the phone at four o'clock in the morning, demanding that he meet him in Slices as soon as possible that day.

Ricky wasn't keen on it consideringhe'd had such an awful day but EJ had sounded different on the phone that day. His voice was small and weak. So he decided that he had to.

The pressure to fix his hair once he saw the senior crept upon him. EJ, sitting alone in a booth, still looked effortlessly good.

Even in the clothes, he was wearingall black.

Ricky stumbled into the seat opposite him, still fixing his hair nervously. "Hey, how are you, dude?" He chuckled when there was no reply, snapping his fingers in the senior's face. "Hello!"

EJ looked up at him with a half-hearted smile. "Why are you here?"

"You called me."

"I drunk dialled you. I needed someone for comfort but I..." He gave up trying to create a clever insult, resorting to saying, "You shouldn't be here." EJ sighed deeply. "You should be with Nini."

"Nini's being weird right now. I think she's going through a lot of stress with the whole Youth Actors Conservatory thing and I...I just don't know."

"You sure couldn't be...anything else?"
