Charlie~~
Dad's office outside the dream in the real world is decorated similar to the one in Somnia except there are no windows.
From behind his desk, Dad looks up from his monitor's holo-screen. "Charlie, I wasn't expecting you this soon. Do you want me to send for coffee?"
I take the seat in front of the desk. "I've gotten enough sleep."
"I'm glad to hear it." He stabs his fork into a bowl of chopped fruit, spearing a banana and putting it in his mouth. He chews slowly, waiting for me to explain why I'm here.
"I followed Nora yesterday. She knows she's asleep."
For a moment Dad looks at me like I'm his favorite child, and some part of me relishes in it.
"Keep watching her. Now that she knows she's dreaming, it's only a matter of time before she starts showing signs of what class she is."
I can only nod and leave.
