Sooner than anyone had realised, it was now time for the first task. You were so nervous and could not imagine how the other champions feel, you hadn't even had that much time to study any of these dragons you could be facing but luckily Charlie had told you lots about them in the past.
You were heading to the first task, you looked behind you and saw Harry running towards you.
"Hey, are you nervous?" You asked the boy.
"A little, what about you? I know Charlie has told you loads about dragons!"
"If I'm completely honest, I'm worried that something could go terribly wrong because I haven't seen Charlie for a while so I don't know as much now."
You and Harry walk together and talk about the Tournament the entire time until you reach the champions tent.
"You will all pick out a dragon each out of this bag." Barty Crouch held out a brown bag with things moving inside it. "Miss Delacour, please, you first."
Fleur picked out a Common Welsh Green,
Krum chose a Chinese Fireball,
Harry got a Hungarian Horntail. Finally, it was your turn to collect your dragon from the bag. You stepped forwards and lowered your hand into the small bag, you felt something move around so you quickly pulled it out.
The dragon you selected was a Swedish Short-Snout.
All champions were in the tent getting prepared to face the dragons, you heard voices near Harry and he motioned you to join him with talking to whoever was there.
When you got there you immediately recognised the voice already, you just had no idea someone else was there as well.
"Psst, Natalie, good luck with this dragon, I know you can do it and I hope you know I will still be cheering for you." You heard George's voice from outside the tent.
Without warning, you moved the curtains and hugged George just like how Hermione hugged Harry. A flash immediately filled the tent, you pulled away from George's arms and saw Rita Skeeter holding a camera.
"Ah young love! This will surely be the front page of my new article. Good luck." Rita left the tent once again, leaving you, George, Harry and Hermione all stood there shocked that she done that.
Hermione and George wished you both a final good luck and a goodbye, then left the tent together.
First to face their dragon, was Viktor Krum, once he left the tent, the rest of the champions followed and sat down together watching him defeat the dragon. He blinded the dragon and snatched the egg. The worst injury he got was a burn to his arm.
Second was Fleur, Krum went back into the tent to check for any unknown injuries whilst Fleur entered the ring. She gracefully charmed the dragon to sleep and grabbed the egg quickly. Her skirt had burned a bit but she casted a water charm to stop the fire from spreading even more.
Fleur entered the champions tent and the next to compete was Natalie.
You walked up to the ring, wand in hand, ready to get your egg. The dragon sure was ready as well, it was already charging at you and breathing fire everywhere. Some even caught the side of your face, sure to leave a bit of a scar there. You hid behind a rock and tried to think of something to distract the dragon. You had an idea, so you jolted up and muttered a Transfiguration spell to a rock near the dragon.
That rock changed into a dog and had the dragons attention already, it was pouncing at the dog trying to catch it but was not successful because of the chains. You took your opportunity to collect the egg in your arms and hurried out of the ring and into the champions tent, where you were met with Naomi and Brooklyn greeting you with a giant hug.
"You done amazing out there, Nat!" Brooklyn exclaimed.
"I'm so proud of you, my baby sister!" Naomi hugged you once again.
"Alright, alright, I need to breathe! Just go get a healer my face hurts like a bitch." You told the two girls as they chuckled and left the tent to get a healer that was not busy already.
"That was great, seriously." You heard a very familiar voice say from behind you. You turned your head to see Fred standing by the entrance with a very proud Charlie.
"You didn't hurt my dragon! I mean- thank god it didn't hurt you either, Fred is right though, you were fire out there! How is your face?" Charlie came over to you to examine your burn. "Nothing too major, here take this."He reached into a small bag slung on his shoulder and grabbed a small tub of cream.
"Just put this on the burn and it should leave eventually. I use this for every burn and cut I get from these dragons, it's very useful-" He handed you the tub but was cut off from Fred purposely coughing.
"That's my cue, you don't great out there, kiddo." He ruffled your hair and left the tent, leaving you and Fred alone since Fleur and Krum were getting healed somewhere else.
"What do you need?" You asked him, moving your legs so he could sit down.
"I just wanted to talk, I'm sorry." Fred told you but you shook your head.
"Fred, I just need some time." You looked up into his eyes.
"I understand, you were awesome out there today." He got up and kissed your forehead, then exited the tent as Brooklyn and Naomi came back in with a healer, shooting Fred a dirty look.
"What did he want?" Brooklyn asked.
"He just wanted to talk, it was a small talk but it was nice." You realised as the healer sat down opposite you and started working on your burns.
One task down, two more to go plus a Yule ball!
