•Part seventeen

After a long but fun day, it was now time for the Yule Ball to take place. You and Brooklyn had agreed earlier to help some of the younger girls with their hair and makeup. Hermione, Ginny and Luna Lovegood were all in your dorm with you, Brooklyn and Naomi helping them.

"I think I'm done with your hair now, Gin." You patted her shoulder then there was a knock on the door so you went to see who was there.

"Hello-?" You asked as you answered the door but before you got to see who it was, the person had covered your eyes.

"Guess who." The person said and took you outside of your dorm, shutting the door.

"I have no idea, but you sound really familiar."

The person uncovered your eyes to reveal Cedric standing there with some of your favourite flowers.

"These, are for you. I can't wait for tonight." He said and handed you the flowers.

"Me too, but what are you doing here and why aren't you getting ready?" You questioned.

"Some of the boys in my dorm are being really loud and using the shower so I wanted to come and see my date." He answered before adding something else "Also I have something to tell you."

"And what might that be?"

"I met someone, and I think I really like them." His cheeks were going red.

"What! Cedric. Tell. Me. Everything!" Your eyes widened.

"Alright, it's not actually a girl." He mumbled.

"Ced, I need you to speak up if you want me to actually know."

"It's not a girl. I like a boy." Cedric admitted and his his face in his hands, expecting you to have a bad reaction.

"Cedric! That's amazing! I'm so proud of you for telling me." You pulled his hands away from his face and he took the opportunity to hug you tightly. "Who is the lucky boy then?"

"Adrian Pucey.." he admitted.

"Oh my gosh, Cedric is that we're you have been for a while. You've been spending time with him!" You realised.

Cedric and you spent around an hour talking about him and Adrian until the two got interrupted.

"Natalie, we have a problem!" Ginny came out of the dorm. "Oh hey Cedric, but Natalie we need some help!"

"Alright, I'll be there in a minute." You told the young girl as she disappeared into the dorm once again. "Thank you for the flowers, Cedric."

"Anytime, I'll see you at the ball. Meet you by the entrance the the hall." He gave you a kiss on the cheek, helped you stand up then left.

"Right, what is the problem in here?" You asked the five girls who were sat on the beds.

"We might have lost your ring you were going to wear." Naomi whispered quietly but loud enough for you to hear.

You planned to wear a small ring that had your birthstone on it, it wasn't a major part of your outfit but it went well because of the kind of light colour. It was Alexandrine gem on the ring, since your birthday was on June 24th.

"Oh it's alright, I'm sure it will turn up eventually."  You reassured the girls.

"Just wear the one Fred got you." Naomi said.

"Wait he got you something?" Ginny asked making you nod. "That's sweet, he never does that with any of his friends."

"Just means he likes her more than a friend." Luna spoke. "It's pretty obvious, it's love."

"You guys think he loves me?" You asked and slid the ring on your finger.

"Obviously." All five of them said at the same time.

"Maybe he does, maybe who doesn't. Nobody knows." You lied, thinking back to that time where you heard him talking to Angelina and when you told Brooklyn what you heard.

"Well you love him, right?" Ginny asked.

"Of course i do, but as a friend." You lied again, not knowing someone was listening.

"Ouch, poor Fred." Ginny said and went back to helping Luna.

Fred Pov

"Of course I do, but as a friend." Ouch.

The words as a friend hurt me more than anything, especially having them come from the love of my life.

"Fred! Come help me tie my tie, I don't know how!" George yelled from the dorms.

I was frozen still. It was like I couldn't move, but felt myself reaching towards Natalie's door handle until I got stopped.

"Can you help me now?" A voice from behind me stopped me in my tracks.

"I'm busy, George, go find Lee." I told my brother and dropped my hand by my side once again.

"Come on, you can't be moping around because your not Natalie's date. Let's just enjoy the night!" George said and pulled me up towards our dorm.

"So we have some drinks to put into the pumpkin juice and butter beer just to spice up everyone's nights." Lee told us and held up a bottle of fire whiskey and a Muggle drink called Vodka. "Now lets get this party started!"

"Go ahead, but I've got something to do and I want to finish it." I took a seat at the end of my bed and grabbed some of my parchment then a quill.

"Another one of your little notes?" George teased.

"Shut up, she enjoys them and I like seeing her smile. It makes me happy." I mumbled the last but so neither of them would hear.

"Whatever makes you sleep at night." Lee patted my back then left the dorm with George.

I jumped up and went over to my wardrobe to get something I had for Natalie. Tonight was the night I would tell her how in love with her I was.

It was all planned out, I got her some flowers and chocolates along with a necklace that I made for her with some more notes and even a letter explaining how much I love her.

My love for Natalie would never fade, I wanted to marry her one day and I just knew I would.

She was the love of my life, Natalie Willow Lupin.

A/N: is this too much to ask for. I want someone to love me like Fred loves Natalie😩
