Again thanks for your patience!! I hope it's worth the wait! I really appreciate your comments and let me know if there's something you'd love to read. Also the pic above is from the hotel where I spent the weekend-thanks for all the love guys!

Pidge wanted to do something nice for her mom. She knows she owes her so much. After all, she pretty much just left her mom here on Earth alone. To suffer and deal without any support and if she was honest, she still felt guilty about a year later.

But perhaps she bit off more than she could chew with this surprise. Sighing, she looked at the garden around her parents' house and feeling defeated as she plopped down in the dirt. Instead of helping, it looks like she just made a gigantic mess of things.

Pidge felt her eyes well up with tears. She's been out in the garden for hours. HOURS! With nothing to show. She started with weeding but then she found herself surrounded by weeds, dirt and bugs. Big ones. Then for some reason birds started coming around which freaked her out a little. Then something bit her finger and honestly her finger is still throbbing. Looking down at her dirty hands, sweaty clothes she felt like admitting defeat. And to top it off her eyes were itchy but she didn't dare touch them. What did she think was going to happen? Why did she think she could do this on her own?

"Dammit!"

Suddenly she felt a hand land on her head. Just resting at first then a little movement of fingers that felt oddly soothing. Hiccuping she looked up into Keith's smirk. Blinking, she mutters, "Damn, now I'm hallucinating."

Keith laughed and kneeled next to her. "No hallucination. I'm here. Shiro has been guilt tripping me about not being home so I figured I'd surprise him but he's got meetings all day. I decided to drive my bike around and came by to see if you wanted to go for a ride. Whatcha doing? I thought you hated the outdoors?"

"I do! But I thought I could do something nice for my mom and get her garden ready for planting. She's been really busy with the lab and creating hybrids." Both former paladins look around. Sighing, Pidge continues, "Obviously I miscalculated."

Keith grins, "Oh, has someone grown up! I can remember a time when you'd never had admitted that!" Expertly dodging her half hearted punch he continues, "Lucky for you, I've picked up a few skills myself." Standing he grabs the garbage bag that was too heavy for her to take out back. Hefting it up like it weighed nothing, "You know, you should be wearing gloves. Go wash your hands, take your allergy medicine and come back out with long sleeves and some damn gloves."

Pidge blinks, "Keith, go for your ride. You should be enjoying yourself not-"

"Pidge. No one if forcing me to do anything, let me help. I actually find gardening relaxing so it's good." Keith extends a hand down to her, pulling her up and pushing her towards the door. Pidge trudges up to the house and does as he said.

Upon returns, she sees Keith has made some real progress. "How did you do all this in 20 minutes?" Waving her arms to encompass the entire outside.

Keith returns, "You honestly did the hard part, I just tidied up." When Pidge opened her mouth to argue, Keith grabbed her hand. "What happened to your hand?" He pulled her close and inspected her finger which was so close to his mouth that she could feel his breath.

For some reason, this made Pidge's heart beat faster and she could feel herself flush. Trying to pull her hand back, she told him something must of bit her. He muttered, "Gloves" then kissed her finger.

Pidge's breath stuttered and her mouth fell open. Keith met her surprised gaze and said, "What?"

Pidge blinked, "Keith?" What's going on? What is she feeling?

Keith blinks, "So after we are done wanna go for a ride? Dinner? You know Kosmo misses you."

Pidge nods slowly, "Yeah sure. Um, so what's next?"

Keith smiles, "Just follow my lead."
