JJ let out a sigh in relief. "Oh, she did it. She held on."
Nearly sagging as she felt all her tension dissipate, Gwen quickly pulled JJ into a tight hug, which the blonde didn't hesitate to return. By their side, Hotch looked at the two fondly as they embraced, his face not showing any of the pain he was feeling inside; he really was losing the both of them at the same time.
And as JJ pulled away to tell the parents the good news, Gwen decided to hang back and stay standing beside him. She bit her lip, hesitant to say something, but Hotch beat her to it first.
"We'll...I'll be sad to see you go, Gwen," Hotch admitted, still looking at JJ as she hugged the mother tightly, who was sobbing in happiness while her husband shed a few tears of his own. "Despite the whole secret identity thing, you're...you're family."
Gwen smiled sadly at him as he finally made eye contact, looking at her with watery eyes. "Thanks, Hotch. I'm gonna miss you too. I'm gonna miss everyone."
