"So," Dabi stretched his limbs out as the wind blew through his hair on the rooftop of the new hideout. The different city gave him a breath of fresh air, a new horizon on which to plot and contribute to the league. "Where do we go from here, boss?"

Placing his hands in his pockets, the villain gazed down at the still busy streets bustling in the night, the pretty lights strewn about the scenery.

Just in front of him, Tomura sat looking at the very same world with a probably very different outlook.

Dabi scoffed at the sight.

"You've been awfully quiet since your meeting with that Hassaikai dipshit-"

"There's nothing to talk about."

Tomura always held authority nowadays, but his voice was less childish, less likely to throw a tantrum, more likely to give orders. In any case, his interruption was a softer one.

Dabi respected him for his maturity. But he couldn't forget Compress losing arm. One of his accomplices being killed without need. And on top of that-

"You gave him Toga and Twice," Dabi said, the wind picking up, casting his coat tails aside as Shigaraki didn't even look back at him. "Can't you at least tell me why?"

The man in front of him sighed, as if the whole ordeal weighed heavily on his shoulders.

"They were his alternative," He answered, seeing the little silver haired child in his memory. You and Eri both as he felt Atomic still nestled into his nerves, sleeping soundly. "Since he wanted something else from me that I couldn't give."

"You mean Y/n's quirk?"

Tomura tensed at Dabi's words. When he finally turned to look at him, Dabi only scoffed, walked closer to the edge of the roof.

"You're always too obvious," He said, stepping onto the ledge like falling wasn't much of a fear. "And don't you remember?" His question came out sly, like he was proud of himself as he cocked his head, gave his boss a side eye. "The second I saw your face, I put it together."

So what if he did? That wasn't exactly something Dabi could hold over his head. Their friendship, if you could call it that, was based solely on their usefulness to one another after all. Dabi needed a place to make his debut, to cause chaos, plot his own little revenge. Shigaraki just needed the man power.

But there was this unsaid agreement between them- them and their members: that no matter what divided them, what tied them together was stronger. The rejection they took from the rest of the world wasn't easy to bear. Bearing it together was more helpful than either of them could ever admit.

"She never mentioned you," Dabi said, thinking of the little miss hiding beneath the tables in the hall. "I thought it was cause you guys had issues or something, but from Camino, it looks like she really doesn't remember anything. That must be tough for you,"

"It's not," Tomura said, truthfully, turning back towards the city again. Looking down at his hands he only ever saw as a reflection of destruction, he felt a glimmer of Atomic coursing through, just reminding him of his presence. It made him sigh gratefully. "Through whatever this power is I see what she once saw and I feel what she once felt,"

Dabi gazed over again, caught the gentle smile passing over Tomura's lips as he shut his eyes and heard muffled sounds of your laughter and your voice through Atomic's memory. Like all the times you were in class and told a joke or hung out with your friends in the sun.
