"Y/n?"

"Yes Shoto?"

"Do you ever miss your parents?"

"No. I don't remember them."

"Do you think, if my dad hadn't taken you, you'd want a family?"

"...No."

"How come?"

You smiled.

"Why would I want something I already have?"

Bakugo froze the moment he heard footsteps coming from the other side of the hall.

Mydoria and Todoroki entered from the outside, you and Bakugo just out of sight around the corner.

Unless they'd heard the two of you yelling, there was no way they knew you were here.

And in any sense, what were they doing together.

You lost focus on the tufts of shirt in your fists, but still held on as you heard the two stall in the neighboring space.
So did the boy still standing against you.

He was closer than before, anxious not to be heard.
Instead of ire, only curiosity lit his face; As if your heated argument took second place to figuring out what his two biggest competitors were doing.

It was for the best.
Silence suited him anyway.
It reminded you he was capable of having softer features.

You went to speak, whisper something so that you and Bakugo wouldn't have to eavesdrop on those two and have Shoto be even angrier later on.

The moment your lips parted, Bakugo gently took his hand from the wall, the concrete scraping against his callouses. His fingers just barely made contact with your chin, tucking it upwards till your mouth closed and his palm slid atop of it.

He wasn't looking at you, he was just keeping an ear out, but, you sort of blinked at him and realized what he was doing.

He wasn't as much telling you to shut up as he was asking you to.

Noticing you were starting to protest his silent favor, he squinted in irritation.

Rather than remove his hand, he brought his face in close to the crook of your neck.
Your eyes went wide, the feeling of his jaw casting aside your hair and his breath nearing your ear sending a shiver up your spine.

"Quiet." He whispered, his tongue clicking against the roof of his mouth.

Swallowing, you nodded quickly, not sure why this was all causing your heart to beat faster and your mouth to run dry.

Once Bakugo removed his hand and pulled away, Izuku and Todoroki regained both your attention.

"We- uh- we should probably eat soon." Deku said, the intimidation Todoroki was putting on obvious from the boy's tone. "The cafeteria's gonna be busy. Don't ya think?"

Shoto said nothing.
Though neither you nor Bakugo could see, it was obvious this wasn't a two-sided conversation.

Todoroki stood with his arms crossed, face hard and menacing.
There was no calm or gentleness to his normal self- the one everyone else in class 1-A knew. There even was a sort of humor and familiarity to his dense yet formal nature to him usually.

Deku saw none of that in him now.
Only anger so expertly controlled, it only just barely escaped through his eyes.

"C'mon Todoroki," Izuku whispered, "Don't be like this-
