Thalia's POV

It had been quite a wild few weeks for Thalia and the rest of her friends, especially Percy and Reyna, but it didn't seem as if that was going to end any time soon, as Thalia and Reyna were playing the basketball team of Reyna's old school in an hour.

Thalia was sitting on the bench, waiting for Reyna, as they'd planned to warm up together, but Reyna was in a deep and heated conversation with Percy in the corner of the gym.

The conversation looked heated, but it seemed like more of a pep-talk to Thalia, as Percy was doing most of the talking and had his hands on Reyna's shoulders.

"Do you want to stare any more?" Jason laughed as he sat down next to Thalia. "Go warm up."

"Yes. No." Thalia replied. "I'm waiting for Reyna, we agreed to warm up together." She added, seeing Jason's confused look.

"Why do you have to wait for her?" Piper asked, plopping down right next to Jason.

"Because I want to." Thalia replied, smirking at Piper, who laughed.

"Well you don't have to wait anymore." Thalia jumped as Reyna appeared next to her. "Come on, Grace, let's go."

Never in her life had Thalia stood up and sprinted onto a basketball court as quickly as she had then, with Reyna right behind her.

They raced to the ball rack, not bothering to be careful of the others, as there were only two other players already there, and Reyna beat her to it, grabbing a ball and running to a hoop, with Thalia doing her best to keep up.

"So... that talk with Percy, do I get to find out what it was about?" Thalia asked as they started playing a half-hearted 1–on-1 against each other.

"It was him telling me to not kill anyone out there." Reyna replied, backing Thalia down.

"Not that I don't want you to, makes our game easier, but why would you want to?" Thalia asked as Reyna span to the baseline and banked in a fadeaway shot.

"They're all dicks." Reyna answered, rolling her eyes. "Winner's ball?"

"Hell no. Loser's." Thalia shot back with a laugh, picking up the ball and going back to the outer arc. "They hate you or something?"

"Well I kinda put one of 'em in ICU, which is why we got kicked out." Reyna said, groaning as Thalia hit a shot of her own.

"Why am I not even surprised." Thalia laughed, passing the ball to Reyna as they went at it again.

"It's not my fault!" Reyna exclaimed with a smile. "They were bullying Percy for his dyslexia."

"Well in that case all is forgiven." Thalia was laughing so hard couldn't defend Reyna's next shot.

"Stop laughing Grace, or you'll be useless in the game." Reyna said, but she was laughing as well.

They continued to play for a while, until the rest of the team, including the coach and the opposing team arrived.

They started talking about their game plan, which was slightly off, as Clarisse had bruised her shoulder during practice a day earlier, but their plan was functional nonetheless.

Reyna would be playing as the Point Guard, running the backcourt with Thalia, which Thalia knew would be a lot of fun.

"Ready to win?" Thalia asked as they went onto the court, feeling giddy and excited.
