You Light Up My Life (E. Buckley)

Chloe

It was a rainy day and I was walking to my car from the bank, all of the sudden I heard a cry sounding noise coming from a bush, it sounded almost like a cats meow, but I don't know if it's just me..

Of course it doesn't hurt to look, I gasped and was nearly heartbroken by what I saw..

It was a baby kitten who had been crying for help, she had cuts around her back and she looked like she hadn't eaten in a day or 2

"You poor thing!" I examined carefully the branches and her position, she was just on some branches so I carefully picked her up with no struggles. I wanted to cry thinking about how this could've happened to a poor little kitten so small.

I took the kitten to my car and placed her in the passanger seat on a hoodie of mine that I had in the car, she seemed a lot calmer then before, I drove her to the vet.

"We successfully cleaned out her cuts and gave her some food, you did a good job getting her out safely." The veterinarian said to me, "so she's gonna be okay?" I ask

"She should be as long as you care for her? If not just give us a call and we'll refer you to an animal shelter for you to bring her." I nodded, they soon let me take the kitten home

I quickly went to the store to get the things the vet said I would need in order to care for her, a bed, cat toys, bottle and formulas since she's still a baby, ect.

When I got back to my car luckily the kitten was okay, she was just meowing until I opened the door and got in, I began to drive.

"Okay kitty we need to think of a name for you."

I look at her, she was looking at me

"What about Princess?"

She kept staring

"No? How bout Tigre?"

Silent

I sigh and look up in thought at the red light, "okay what about-"

"Chloe!"

I look to see a mom taking her daughters hand "Chloe slow down dont walk ahead"

I look over at the kitten and she's looking at me with her adorable eyes and let out a meow, I smile "Chloe?"

She walked in a circle and meowed again, I chuckle and continue driving when the light turn green "Okay Chloe it is" I laugh

Buck and I were off work today and I asked him to come over to meet Chloe, except of course, I didn't tell him that, I kind of just said it was a surprise.

I was feeding chloe milk from her bottle when Buck walked in, so I silently signaled a hush.

He looked really confused cause my back was facing him, he couldn't see what I was doing

I slowly turn around and Buck's face instantly lit up, "Buck, this is Chloe."

He was in awe, "You got a kitty where did you get her??" He asked, "Yea kind of.. she was a stray I found her in a bush the other day.. but I took her to the vet, they healed her up and now she's here with me." I say looking at her, she looked so peaceful

Buck didn't say anything but just looked at me and Chloe in my arms, "Shayla I've been wanting to talk to you about something." He started

"About?" I ask, he looked a bit shy or like he was second guessing whatever he was about to say, "you remember the talk we had last weekend? About wanting a future together?"

Here we go, the butterflies are back, "Yea?" I said hopefully, "Would it be crazy if I wanted you to live with me?"

I look down and smile, "I hadn't thought about that but it doesn't sound crazy, it sounds like a good idea if you're on board with it.." I motion to Chloe taking her bottle and gently placing her in her cat bed.

Buck laughed, "she's not a problem at all, the more the merrier " this is so exciting, "sounds like a plan" I say walking closer to hug him and kiss him on the cheek

We spent the day planning out when and how we were gonna do it all, at the same time Buck took the chance to spend quality time with Chloe to get to know her better, and so they can start getting used to eachother

I just know I don't have any doubts about Buck and Chloe, of course that's not the only thing on my mind when our life together comes to mind.
