"He's gone," Yuna murmured, still staring at the empty space of where their father was. From near them, the crackling of a fire and heat started to become more transparent.

Jaehyung grabbed Yuna's hand, "Now's not the time to find father," he said, although as soon as he said that, his eyes caught on a document of papers he had noticed lying on his father's desk. It was the same pile of documents his father had held onto throughout their brief meeting. "Come. We have to leave right now!"

He grabbed the sheets of paper placing it in his pockets after a moment of hesitation and both him and Yuna exited out of the room. By then, the fire was starting to become more obvious and the smoke continued to drift through the air. Instantly, Jaehyung began to cough as did Yuna. They both covered their mouths and tried their best not to breathe.

From this high in the mansion, Jaehyung knew the drop below was risky. Extremely dangerous. But how else was he meant to come down when the fire and smoke was still burning?

While Yuna went to the nearest window, Jaehyung obtained two sharp pieces of the statue that had nearly toppled over Yuna. He held one and began to hit the window, giving a piece to Yuna who began to do the same.

His head started to feel an intense dizziness. They continue to pierce through the glass with Jaehyung for the first time hating how the glass was so durable. With one last smash, the glass shattered into pieces, some of the glass cutting through Jaehyung's skin. He looked behind him where the fire was edging near him, before glancing forwards.

Down below him were bodies of injured Knights. Assassins dressed in black pointed their guns at the two and began to shoot. Immediately, Yuna blocked them with her wind element.

She grabbed his hand once more, looking more serious than ever. She was back to normal. "Jaehyung," she said. "Jump now!"

They both jumped. Jaehyung used his hallucination powers to confuse the assassins but they continued shooting. He tried not to groan as a bullet hit on his shoulder.

"Damn it!" he could hear Yuna swear. They rounded the corner and immediately began to locate and fight each and every one of the assassins before they could shoot the two.

"I suggest trying so hard not to hide your destruction powers," Jaehyung remembered the words his father had uttered before. "...You can do as you want with those powers as long as it stays within the law."

As long as it stays within the law? Jaehyung scoffed. It didn't matter at this point.

The reason why destruction powers were so feared was because it was so powerful that a strong weilder was capable of killing an army in mere seconds.

He began to gain energy. Elemental powers were like spells. One needed to know simple exercises in order for certain elemental powers to work.

Looking up at the sky, at the rain still falling down and knowing that the fire in the house would soon die down quickly, Jaehyung's eyes, although he wasn't able to see it, turned to the deepest shade of black. Thunder rumbled in the distance sky.

"Arise."

Instantly, shadow swirled around the whole perimeter of the mansion. The shadows became like figures, like people, as they started to restrain the assassins with their dark hands. The assassins could do nothing as the shadows surrounded the whole area. It was too dark for a normal human to see who wasn't affiliated with the power of destruction. Jaehyung walked forward.

What shall we do, Master? the shadows spoke with glee. What shall we do?

"Gather all the assassins and make them fall unconscious," Jaehyung ordered.

Yes, Master.

The shadows raced and twirled around. By then, sirens began to ring in the near distance. Collect the assassins! the shadows cried out. Collect them! Collect them! Collect them!

Jaehyung looked out at the scene in front of him, before taking a glance at the mansion still dwindling away as the fire began to eat it away. His raised his hand up and let the rain fall down on him. Yuna spoke up from behind him.

"Jaehyung," she said. "What was that?"

"Later," he said, extremely fatigued. "Now's not the time."

He gazed out at the sea of people, most of them assassins. In the driveway, a few cars were toppled over. Yuna left Jaehyung and began to scout for injured people - for the workers who ended up caught in this dilema.

Death, he reminded himself, is something I have to get used to. In this world, death is common. Destruction is common. Even the villain's previous memories had death in it. I have to get used to this in order to survive in this world.

He closed his eyes, beginning to utter a word that might change him for better or for worse.

"Kil—"

"Master!"

Startling him slightly by the person behind the voice, he looked ahead and found Mina running towards him. She barely gave a glance at the pile of assassins unconscious and the shadows still swirling around them. Even the rain didn't seem to deter his bodyguard in the slightest.

Behind her, the police force and even more of his family's gaurds had arrived at the front of the mansion. Ambulances and firetrucks were already in front of them, with workers rushing out to navigate the huge mansion. The firemen and paramedics began to do their work, heading inside the mansion to diminish the fire whilst the paramedics scouted for any workers left in the chaos. It wouldn't take too long for the fire to die out — the rain was still ever present.

"M... Mina." Jaehyung said, blinking. He looked out at the assassins before stepping back, horrified at himself. He was about to kill someone - multiple people in fact.

"No..." he murmured. "This wasn't meant to happen!"

He told himself countless times that he was never going to be like the Kim Jaehyung in the novel. Never. Yet why — why did he even consider killing someone?

He took a step back, "Shadows," he said weakly. "Fall back."

As you wish, Master. The shadows diminished, vanishing into thin air. The wind picked up and brushed Jaehyung, his coat flapping in the wind.

"Master," Mina Nakamura said, Jaehyung flinched at those words. Behind her were medical staff who were to treat his wounds. They lead him to inside the ambulance back, where suddenly Jaehyung's pain started to began more prominent. The bullet in his shoulder began to burst with piercing, sharp agony.

However he was still lost - his mind racing and his thoughts rushing through his mind. The guards surrounded him outside the ambulance. The murmurs and the talk of the people near him had not been processed in Jaehyung's mind.

"The young master looks like he's in shock," he  managed to hear with a great amount of willpower. "He has to be immediately rushed into surgery."

What? Surgery? Was it that serious? Jaehyung felt the dizziness from before grow even worse. He swayed and the ambulance doors shut out from behind him. He stared at the hood of the ambulance, at its white colour. His chest continued to heave up and down and suddenly it felt like his breath was taken away from him. The world started to smear with the colours of black.

"He's losing conscious!" someone shouted in the back of his mind. "What?" another person said. "Wasn't he doing fine before?"

"Well it doesn't matter! We have to keep him alive or else it's our jobs!"

He blinked, his eyes fluttering. From those words he tried his best to keep them open but he was so inexplicably exhausted and the same words kept repeating over and over in his head. I'm a failure, I'm a failure, I'm a failure.

For the first time ever since he arrived in this world, he truly hated being Kim Jaehyung. All he wanted to do was wake up from this nightmare and return back to his own world. Back to where he belonged.

Please... he thought in the deepest depths of his mind. I want to go home.

He was simply met with the silence of darkness.
