The days continue to drag on, neverending. An echoing silence, filled with the endless dark. Jaehyung couldn't count how long he'd been in the dungeon, for his sense of time had now deteriorated. His sanity was slowly beginning to tear apart and the darkness he once controlled no longer felt like his.

The suffocating and bitter atmosphere of the dungeon made Jaehyung slowly want to die. He no longer cared for anything - just that he wanted to get out. Stone walls surrounded him, with a thick metal door being the only entrance out. There was nothing else apart from those walls and that door.

Jaehyung was going insane.

A deep hatred for Toshiro began to circle within him for the first few days of being locked up. Slowly, that hatred grew to become enraged until all Jaehyung could think about was revenge. He knew that his eyes, although he could not see them, were bloodshot and that blood sometimes dripped down from his mouth.

The food these pathetic guards were giving him were poisoned yet Jaehyung could do nothing but to submit to their mercy.

He hated it. Death felt so close, like an old friend reunion. Jaehyung's time was up. He was helpless. He could do nothing.

He was going to die.

In this deep, deafening silence, he could do nothing but feel despair.

Echoing footsteps neared, and blood continuously dripped down from Jaehyung's mouth. He could distinctly hear the murmuring voices from behind the locked door. A lilting feminine voice suddenly grew louder in noise. The walls around him shook.

Then came the screams of terror.

The door banged open and Jaehyung saw the polished heels on the floor. He barely had enough energy to lift his head, so he kept his head bowed down, feeling all the more pathetic at each second. He felt vulnerable, no longer high and mighty like he once imagined himself to be.

After all, he was but an imposter - he wasn't the real Kim Jaehyung.

"My child," the woman snarled. "They dare do this to you?"

The chains around him snapped, and Jaehyung immediately slumped towards the floor, his body a heap of mass. He could barely think, let alone talk.

A soft hand pressed gently near his forehead. The world began to blacken and his eyes shut close.

"Sleep, my child," whispered the stranger. "For there will be a great surprise once you awaken."

The days had gone by
A distilling silence in the abyss
For nothing mattered more than the freedom
He so ever wished for
An escape from this harsh world
Where he was but an imposter
Posing as a fake character
In a novel that he
Had not finished reading
The plot had not ended yet

Note

Hello! It's been a long time hasn't it? :')
Having not updated for a couple of months, I uh might've disappeared from the face of the Earth.
However don't worry - my hiatus is over! Yay.

Thank you to the readers who stuck by. This time, I fully intend to finish Jaehyung's story.

I'll do my best! (And hopefully not give up and lose inspiration)
