I looked up when I heard people shouting Daryl's name.

"Is he leaving?" Michonne asked seeing Daryl walk towards us with Rick.

"We started something last night. You realize that huh?" Rick asked. Daryl popped open the trunk.

"No him, no me. That's all I can say," Daryl said putting a few water bottles in a bag. "Take care of yourself. Take care of lil ass-kicker. Carl. He's one tough kid." Rick nodded, agreeing. "Aurora, take care of yourself and make the right decision with Carl."

"I will," I said, tears gathering in my eyes. Daryl was really leaving us all for his ass of a brother. I ran up to Daryl, not caring about my leg, and hugged him tightly. "Bye Daryl."

"Daryl!" Dad yelled. We watched Daryl walk into the woods with his brother, and out of our sight. Mom handed Rick their guns, disappointed.

"Come on, let's get you off that ankle. Rick, did you happen to bring any extra pants?" mom asked, looking at Rick for an answer.

"No, sorry," Rick said.

"It's alright," I said. Mom helped me into the backseat. She got in the back with me, followed by Michonne. I buckled my seatbelt before we took off.

----------

The ride back to the prison was long and boring. Not to mention sad. We lost Daryl. Our hunter. One of our protectors. Well, I guess we never actually made it back to the prison so I can't say it was long, boring, and sad. The ride so far was long, boring, and sad but we had to stop because there was a tree in the middle of the road. I climbed out of the car, even I really shouldn't have. I was ordered to stay off my ankle.

"Get the brakes," Ricks aid to dad. A bright orange truck was on the other side of the fallen tree. Dad opened the car door and a walker fell towards him.

"I got it!" Dad called, throwing the walker to the ground and stomping on its head many, many, many times. When he was done, he grabbed his side in pain. "You didn't kill him."

"That's not why we went back," Rick said. Mom grabbed my arm and walked me to sit on the floor beside her.

"No. That's right. You went back for Daryl. And now he's gone again and the Governor is still alive," dad snapped rudely.

"Darul was the priority," Rick said.

"I should have been there with you," dad said with an anger-laced tone.

"But my girlfriend was?" Dad shouted.

"Glenn, this isn't about us," mom said from beside me.

"I should have been there," dad snapped.

"Hey, hey, you didn't come back with us 'cause you could barely walk," Rick said.

"What about her?" Dad asked.

"What about me?" Mom shot back.

"Do you know what he did to her!? What he did to our daughter?!" Dad screamed loudly. I looked at him with tear-filled eyes.

"Leave it alone!" Mom shouted back.

"Do you know!?"

"Dad, stop!" I cried, flashbacks rushing into my head.

"Let's go," mom said while dad breathed angrily.

"After all that effort, all the risk we took, Daryl just takes off with Merle?" Dad scoffed.

"Well, he had his reasons," Rick said.

"Yeah, you keep telling yourself that, Rick. Doesn't change the fact that we're up to our necks in shit," dad said.

"You want me to turn the car around, beg him to come back? Throwdown a welcome mat for Merle? This is the hand we've been dealt!" Rick yelled.

"Let's just get this out of here and get back. Get some rest. We can talk it out there," mom said, leaning against the tale gate.

"No, you guys do all the talking you want. I'm done," dad said. I took a deep breath to try and escape the many tears that wanted to escape.

----------

The rest of the ride back in the car was cramped and tense. It was silent. An angry, awkward silence. One that I desperately wished I could escape. I was relieved when the prison gates came into view. I saw Carl unlock the metal chain holding the gate closed. Carol pulled the giant door open. We pulled past the first gate, Carol shutting it behind us. Carl opened the second gate as mom came to a complete stop. Rick climbed out of the car, giving me more room.

"Drive 'em up. I'll meet you there," Rick said to us.

"Okay," mom said. Mom drove us up the prison. When the car finally comes to a complete stop, I unbuckle my seatbelt and climb out of the car.

"Grandpa! Aunt Beth!" I called when I see them. They turn at my voice and come running towards us. Aunt Beth wraps her arms around me.

"I'm so glad you okay," she breathes in relief. Grandpa comes over too and hugs me before hugging mom.

"Take your sister inside," Grandpa says to mom after examining her arms. Mom smiled and kisses grandpa on the cheek. I see Carl behind grandpa and run to him. I wrap my arms around him but don't say anything. He hugs me back firmly.

"Thank you," I whisper to Rick, hugging him.

"Your welcome. Go on and rest your ankle inside," Rick says. I nodded. Carol comes over and puts my arm around her shoulder. Aunt Beth comes over and does the same.

"I'll be inside soon to check on your ankle," Grandpa says. I nodded and let Carol and aunt Beth help me inside.
