Crowds parted like the Red Sea as Jerald rushed through them to find her. “Raelyn!” He called out, peeking over the crowd as he spotted her leaning over the side of the boat as she gazed at the sea. “Rae! Oh thank the gods I found you.”

“Why? Did you want to see your wife again?” Raelyn scoffed, turning away from him.

“No,” he turned her head towards him, “I want to see you; Raelyn, not Freya.”

She stood quiet, averting her gaze.

“Rae, look, calling you Freya was completely out of line back there.” He sighed, gazing out at the sea as well. “That gas made me see the day they died. It was a day I never wanted to relive. That’s why I was so reluctant to do the sessions. I don't like talking about it…”

Raelyn came in closer, stroking his back. “Jerald, I’m not Freya, and no matter how hard I try, I’ll never be her.”

“I know,” he muttered, nodding at the witch. “And I don't want you to be. Just be you.”

“Even so… I want to help you through the troubled times like she did.” She rested her head on his shoulder. “I want to help you forget that day. I want to help you make new memories with the friends and family you have now.”

She intertwined her fingers with his. “I can’t be Freya… but I can be a damn good Raelyn.”

“You’re the best, Raelyn,” Jerald whispered, hugging her tightly as he leaned into her touch. “I admit that you do remind me of Freya, like the fire in your eyes whenever you talk about your kids. She had that too. But there’s something about you, Raelyn, and the twins that gives me this rush”

“Does it make you happy?” she whispered.

“So happy, Raelyn,” he replied with a smile.

“Good, ‘cause I intend to keep you happy. I may not be a Luna, but I’ll do my best to keep that feeling safe,” she promised, smiling into his shoulder as her arms wrapped around him. “I want to make you smile, Jerald…”

He lifted up her head, wiping the lone tear that shed from her eye. When will you learn that you already make me happy every day of the week, Rae?

Queenie stood out on the balcony of Charles’ room. With a bright red marker, she wrote: EQUAL PAY IS FOR ALL. Switching to the blue marker, she continued: INCLUDING DRAGONS.

She smiled, her hands on her hips. She was happy to help Charles and the other dragons fight for equal pay -- and safety for their mates -- on the ship. She turned inside to see Charles dipping his finger in the red paint and putting some on Miriana’s nose.

She giggled, doing the same to him with the blue paint. When the two shared a small kiss, the colors on their noses mixed together.

It was times like these when Queenie became jealous of her little sister and Charles. Their love was so lively, so passionate and vibrant, it made Queenie want to yell, ‘Why the heck can’t I have something like that!’
