They say opposites attract
But I don't always think that's true
Or safe in some situations
A beautiful strong girl
Can be taken from the world
Under the hold of narcissistic play boy
I think the reason we write poetry about love
Is because we want to find the meaning
In every word we hope someone else's love had potential to be ours
The truth is...
There is no one song
Or poem
Or man
Than can give you the meaning of love
If you keep looking for it in the same place you lost it
Then you're not even close
You can't keep looking for everyone else's love
They already have that person they wrote about in their song
Write your own story
What will you call it?
What will cause the climax?
Most importantly...how will you keep the sequel going after the book ends?
Don't plagiarize it
Look forward to the next chapter
Keep writing when it hurts
When you feel your wrist breaking
Keep going
If he wants to be the illustrator to the author
He will learn to keep writing the story
When you have run out of things to say
I think that's the love I've had to learn
Books take time to write
He will take time trace every curve and remember every arch
As I will need the time to scribble about how flustered I feel when he's not there
The only thing my boy knows how to play is the sweet melody of a familiar love song
