There's nothing more beautiful to me than a sunset
Well...there's you of course, but you already know how much I admire you
Besides a sunset being beautiful
It also is the only thing that relieves my anxiety
In that moment I'm forced to focus on something else
Something we see everyday
On a good day
Sometimes if you look hard enough on a bad day it smears out the grey clouds and speckles them fuchsia
Yet they never quite descend the same way they did the day before
Its even beyond the actual sunset
It's the day that leads up to it that makes you either
Hope to blaze in it's pinks and reds
Or
Lose yourself in the indigos and violets
It's those days that when you feel the sun so deep on your skin it's running through your veins
The days you sweat your ass off
The days that almost blind you as her glory bounces of the fresh snow
It makes every sunset remind you why you're alive today
to let you know if you missed the show tonight don't worry there's an encore tomorrow morning
Believe me baby, I might not be a morning person, but goddamn nothing can wake me up more than the greatest battle know to man
Which is when the sun slays the moon in order for her people to see another day
As I stand at each twilight
No matter how defeated I am
There's something about the North Star peeking out over the yellow that tucks me in at night
This world makes me feel so small
The people shrink me down even more
There's this big spectacle in the sky that makes that small feeling okay
Somehow as everything is ending
It's where i find my greatest peace
Knowing in that moment when the trees swallow the sun
I'm okay with seeing the next sunset as long as I'm seeing it with you
