Andromeda
I groan as someone knocks on my door. I stayed up late last night reading a new book, and I'm now regretting all of my life choices.
"Andromeda! Get your ass out of bed now! Before I break this door down and drag you out myself!" Saura hollers from outside the door. I mumble an insult at her, and pull myself slowly out of my comfy bed.
"FASTER!" She yells, and I flip her off behind the door. "Oh don't you give me that sass young lady!" She replies. Stupid Saura and her ever-seeing mom eyes. Between her and Cae a girl could die from smothering around here.
"Oh, fuck you." I reply opening my door. Saura and the rest of the team are standing around waiting for me, I give them a lovely scowl.
"Aw muffin, did someone stay up late reading last night?" Caelum asks teasingly. Bitch. He walks over and puts his arm around my shoulder, and I lean my head into his hard chest.
I pinch his side, and reply: "No, I'm just naturally this bitchy with 10 hours of sleep."
He chuckles and leans in closer. "Finally you realize it," he murmurs into my hair. That little- I'm not responsible for my actions anymore. He seems to understand my line of thinking because he sprints out the common room door away from me.
"CAELUM YOU LITTLE PLAGUE RAT! WHEN I CATCH YOU, YOU'RE DEAD!" I screech at him, sprinting after him. Fuck being tired, he insulted me so now he gets to die.
I give a passing glance to Sebastian, whose arm is slung around Liz as she teasingly pushes him away. They're walking a few feet behind the rest of the group, oblivious to the chaos that is Cae and I.
I frown harder, and speed up passing a corner. I skid to a stop, because Diana is standing before of a very sheepish looking Caelum. In front of a stained glass image of Icarus falling with his wings spread out, she looks like a fallen angel. With her temper, hell she could be a fallen angel. I slowly walk up to her.
"Hello Diana. Lovely to see you today," I say smiling innocently at her. She flashes her patented 'Im-not-believing-any-of-your-bullshit' look.
"I see you all are adjusting... nicely." She says, "follow me." Everyone falls in line silently behind her.
Once we reach her office, she unlocks the door and quickly gestures us in. Sebastian and I take the two chairs facing the desk, with Liz and Alex hovering over Sebastian, and Leo perched on the arm of my chair idly playing with a strand of my hair.
I notice Caelum frowning as he goes to lean against the wall next to the door. Topher sits on the leather couch, with Saura on his right, while Saura has Lyra on her lap. Vela and Vega are crammed on the far right side of the couch, with Vela going so far as to sit on the arm.
"As some of you have guessed," Diana says shooting a look at me, "I've gathered you here to tell you about your first mission as a team."
At this some quiet murmurs and protests start, but Diana raises a hand, and they stop abruptly.
"I know its rather soon, but we think it would be best if you all had some experience as a team. It will just be a regular patrol in Section 4, and we don't expect anything to happen. Should the need arise, there will be a backup patrol waiting in Section 3."
"When is it?" I question, and Diana purses her lips before answering: "Tonight."
Short chapter I know, but I'm really excited for the next chapter!!! Im like 5 chapters ahead in writing, so I wrote a chapter that was 7 pages long today.
Hows we feeling?
Take care of yourselves, and lots of love!!
