Right... Soobin sat dazed on the floor. I stabbed myself.
Suddenly, everything felt like it never even happened, to the point he barely believed that he ended up here, wherever it was, and alive. Him falling through space, and somehow landing in bed?
"Tell me again," Soobin asked as he was helped up by Yeonjun. Pairs of eyes stared at the two as they reentered the kitchen. A shorter male stood up and offered his seat to Soobin, in which his politely accepted. 'Tell me how I got here."
He had previously though there were quite a few people in the kitchen but turns out there was only 4, well 5 including him. One was a hellishly tall male with a scar on one of his eyes, curly brown hair and a white robe that fell around him. His stare was intense on Soobin. The boy barely dared to look back.
There was an air of authority surrounding him as well, as seen from the way Yeonjun bowed in a small, short manner when he walked back to the wall he was leaning on previously as well as the way he stood mighty and strong.
Beside him stood an elderly woman, probably in her 70s mending a pile of surgical instruments.
A doctor, Soobin thought, noting the white gown and stethoscope that hung from her wrinkly neck. She smiled when she say Soobin was looking at her, the wet eyes disappearing into a crescent moon.
Soobin returned the gesture awkwardly and remembered the boy that was standing behind him, who gave up his seat. In his rush, Soobin had failed to see how the boy looked like clear, though he did feel like whoever he was, was familiar to Soobin in someway.
And then there was Yeonjun.
He wore a white silky shirt that was half tucked into his brown pants, his hand in each pocket. His hair was nonetheless a mess and although they both met each other's gazes, Soobin could tell other thoughts were running past in Yeonjun's mind.
"To make things...less complicated for you, since you don't know anything about this realm, I-" Yeonjun started after a while.
"Realm?"
"Yes, this is the spirit realm. You came from the mortal realm."
Soobin hummed and despite wanting to question further, decided to Yeonjun continue.
"When you stabbed yourself, you die, obviously, and I die along with you. And I, I... somehow pa-panicked and -" Yeonjun stammered, slightly embarrassed when recalling his huge outbreak and the way he was still in tears when he ended back in the spirit realm.
"He panicked, and poured the potion down you throat." The boy behind him finished.
Yeonjun coughed, going pink in the ears before shaking his head and continuing.
"Thanks Taehyun, where were we? Right I poured the potion, which was something that made me human when I entered your realm so I thought if I gave it to you...you'll become an angel..or something."
'And he did it without knowing if it will work." Taehyun continued to added curtly and Yeonjun clicked his tongue to show his displeasure of the constant disruption.
"Anyways all that matters is that it worked right," Yeonjun shrugged before looking down sheepishly. Soobin guessed he said nothing happened but probably had been scolded real bad when Soobin was asleep.
"So, what's this spirit realm?" Soobin started but then started to wince, his chest area starting to throb. The elderly lady immediately fluttered to Soobin's side and pressed her hand onto his shirt where it was hurting beneath.
"You should get back to bed," she muttered so softly, Soobin barely caught her words. "Your wound and body hasn't healed completely since it was a rushed transformation from human to angel form."
Soobin started to get up with the help on Yeonjun and slowly made their way back to the room once again, but instead of going there as what Soobin thought, Yeonjun turned right into one of the other rooms and went in.
"Wait, wasn't this door locked?" Soobin asked.
Yeonjun smiled as he laid his friend down on the soft, clean, dry sheets. "The door knobs here are special. It's like a Touch ID, just that they scan your palm when you touch the handle and let's you in."
"Oh,"
Yeonjun stood up straight and a sorrowful look settled on his face.
"What?" Soobin asked.
"Nothing, just... feeling bad that you've been thrown into so much unreal information when you've just worked up from death." Yeonjun replied, stepping away and rounding the bed.
"Yeah that's for sure. I can't even comprehend anything that y'all previously said."
Yeonjun hummed and suddenly, he had a great idea.
"Wait here, I'll be back." Yeonjun smiled before running out and coming back in just a few seconds.
What is with the speed here, Soobin thought.
In his hands, Yeonjun held a middle thick book and with outstretched hand, he dropped the book onto Soobin's lap.
"Ow, what's this history book?" Soobin question, tilting his head slightly to read the title of the book before looking back at Yeonjun who was heading back to the door again.
"It's a history and information on the spirit realm, angel, everything you might need to know since you're going to be living here!" He replied and waved. "I have to go now, things are...chaotic here. You'll be here for a few days with the medical lady so make yourself comfortable."
"Where are you going?"
Yeonjun stopped just outside the door and grabbed the handle. "The library, you'll only start to understand once you've read the book."
With that and a soft click of the door, Soobin was left alone, his only company, the thousand year old history book.
