Y/n had become irritable, it's become uncomfortably close to when the warriors were said to arrive and with no contact from Y/n for the better part of six months they were most likely coming here under the assumption that the king had killed him.

"Reiss..." He lowly growled and bit his thumb nail nervously, he needed to get to the royal family or at least give the marley government some kind of result.

The whole scout regiment lined up for the expedition, prepared to leave. The sun beating down on them as Y/n looked up. His hair being blow out of the way as his skin soaked up the sun a contrast to his time in the under ground. He was no longer weak and frail, in fact he was in quite good shape his military training from Marley coming in handy whenever he could get some of his own exercise in.

His blood red eyes drifted to a boy and his father. Both having brown hair and green eyes, upon seeing Y/n's gase the man froze up and ushered his son away much to his sons confusion. "That man.." the black haired man muttered "I've seen him somewhere before"

The gates opened and shadows yelled and soon the troops began to charge, most of them would be gone by the end of the expedition so he hadn't bothered to get to know any of them.

An hour into the expedition and no titans where seen "this doesn't make sense, Marley sent hundreds of subjects of Ymir to paradis so where are they all?" He thought to himself.

Furlan was anxious about going outside the walls, often complaining about how they could've swiped the documents and disappeared meanwhile Isabel was determined to show her superiors how good she is, nearly starting a fight until levy broke it up.

"Hey" Y/n called "dont get cocky kid" he cautioned "titans maybe mindless meat heads but they're still deadly"

Isabel nodded her head and looked forward, her eyes focused on her surroundings while Furlan was still anxious "Furlan" he looked to the other male "have faith in your squad and your squad should have faith in you. Strong alone stronger together"

Furlan smiled and nodded repeating the words in his head, strong alone stronger together.

Flagon squad continued their travel, not stopping for any Titan as multiple flares went off, green and red. As soon as the red flare went off a green one would soon follow.

The whole legion of scouts came to a stop at the ruins of a large castle, tying their horses to fence posts Isabel looked at her friends and looked confused "hey... we're going to stay in this dump?"

"Well..the walls looks old and unreliable but their going to make good use of these castle ruins" Furlan argued as Levi watched the area for any titans.

But through all that was going on Y/n was looking towards the wall, the towering fifty meter high wall that defended humanity from the titans but he was looking beyond that, even though three walls his crimson eyes were traced on the capital, as if staring it down. He felt something, something was pulling him towards it constantly even when they were in the underground he felt it.

"Y/n...hey Y/n" Isabel waved her hand in front of his face "hmm?" He snapped out of his trance "what is it?" Isabel looked at him concerned "are you..okay?"

He nodded his head "yeah..I'm...fine, where did levi and Furlan go?" He tried to change the subject, not really wanting to discuss it.
"You know you can talk to me right?" She pushed further

"Isabel, I'm fine" he answered rather coldly before entering the castle, leaving Isabel standing there her heart aching for him to open up "Y/n.."

He walked into Levi and Furlan discussing the plan to get the documents and sat down on a sleeping bag that had been laid down for him "killing Erwin would be stupid and unnecessary" he interrupted their conversation "we can just get the documents and leave"

Levi turned to him, annoyed "we've tried to find them twice already, they aren't in his office and they aren't in his bedroom so where are they?"

Y/n laid on the sleeping bag and yawned "he's probably got them on him" Isabel came in with a hurt look on her face that went unnoticed by Levi "so then we kill him" the midget argued

"And out a higher bounty on our backs? It's stupid and unnecessary Levi you should know that besides we don't even know if he's got them on him he might've sent them off already" Levi glared at him before sighing "maybe" he muttered

"And what do you think lovof will do with us once the contract is completed?" Levi didn't answer "do you think he'll let four underground rats run away with such valuable information?" Again Levi didn't answer "he'll shoot us dead the moment we confirm that it's completed this whole thing is suicidal"

"Fine I get it...you're right" Levi admitted

"Now if you don't mind me, I'm going to sleep" Y/n replied with an attitude that Levi didn't like, shutting his crimson eyes he tried to go to sleep. "What the hell is your problem?" Levi asked to which he got no reply.

The small man grabbed Y/n and forced him to look at him, the two glaring at eachother "ever since we got this contract you've been an ass so what the hell is your problem?"

Y/n laughed, "oh I'm sorry, do you like being sent to your death? Either at the end of a gun barrel or at the hands of a Titan we'll probably due by the end of this mission"
