"How does Yuele not just hear our thoughts? She always taps into them."

Aria looks at her oldest sister as she's drinking her orange juice. "She can't tap into my brain. She tried when I had her in that bubble. That's why I was able to see what was going on without her noticing."

"So we have to communicate with you to communicate about Yuele?" Marie asks, cutting her pancakes.

Aria shakes her head. "Um, well, I don't think so. Maybe you guys have to communicate through me instead of with me. We're all connected to my mind, except for Yuele. Like, you're communicating with Amelia, but it's through me. I don't know if that made sense."

"Nope." "Yeah, I got it." "Um..." "Can I have another pancake?"

They all turn their attention to Zyra, who was looking at everyone wide eyed. She realizes she thought that instead of saying outloud and giggles. "Oops. Can I please have another pancake?"

One of the servants nods and goes to do so.

"You're all quiet this morning," Yuele says, irking an eyebrow at the family. "Bad sleep?"

Izabel sighs. "I think we were up worrying about the baby."

"Ally's baby?"

"No, Izabel's," Amelia says, squinting her eyes. "Why would something be wrong with my mom's baby?"

Yuele rolls her eyes. "Amelia, I apologized. If Marie and Lian can trust me, maybe you should, too."

Amelia is going to argue, but she hears, "Stop it or she's gonna become suspicious." Amelia sighs and rolls her eyes, going back to eating breakfast. "Whatever."

Hope enters the room, near tears while Cai is screaming her head off. Her eyes immediately dart to her husband eating breakfast. "Please get her. I can't take it right now."

Zay immediately zips from his spot to Hope's side and before Zay could even grab his daughter, she stops crying. Still, Zay takes her and it makes Hope even more sad. "Maybe she just doesn't like me."

"She's a baby, Hope. Of course she likes you." Zay tries to comfort her, but she shrugs him off as she goes to get breakfast. Zay sighs as he watches her leave the room.

"Rough patch?" Austin asks, rubbing his back as Zay goes to sit back down.

Zay shrugs, bouncing his daughter as he sits. "She's got postpartum depression. Baby Cai isn't giving her the easiest time."

"That's why I'm the favorite daughter," Zyra says with her mouth full of pancake. "I didn't give momma a hard time."

"Oh, yes, you did," Zay chuckles, reaching her to ruffle her head. "You were speed crawling at five months."

"Cool!"

Nick enters the room with Aurora by his side, both of them stretching and yawning. Izabel irks eyebrow as he kisses her head. "Where were you? You weren't there when I woke up."

"I left to grab my gear from my station. I was gonna be right back, but I found this kid shooting arrows at the crack of dawn. I helped her for a moment, but we both passed out in the woods." Nick chuckles, taking a piece of her bacon.

"Shooting arrows? Aurora, I told you that you weren't allowed to shoot arrows alone. Especially that early in the morning." Austin scolds, though Aurora sighs.
