"You need to be more careful," his mother scolds as she wraps up his side. "I thought having a multi-ability girlfriend would prevent trouble like this, but it seems that you do it to yourself."

Austin gives her a bored look, frowning as he looked up at the older woman who gave birth to him. "They came to our room. How is it my fault?"

His mother adjusts his arm and he winces, though she gives a shrug and continues on. "Ally can sense danger. Maybe you should've let her open the door? Even then so, why would you proceed to try fight someone with a fire abilities when you have no weapons?"

"I'm her guardian. I'm supposed to make sure nothing harms her."

"Look, the whole Guardian thing is still pretty blurry to me, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean guarding her 24/7," his mother speaks, leaning over to the table and grabbing a cotton ball with peroxide soaked in it. She dabs it on his wound and Austin groans, closing his eyes tightly. "Austin, you have no sort of ability and I know, it's been hard finding where you belong these days, but that doesn't mean going out of your way to do things that'll get you hurt. I wrap your side or shoulder so much, I'm surprised they're functioning."

Austin sighs, and holds the gauze as she finds something to cling it down to his body. "Mom, I have no purpose in the village anymore. I'm Ally's guardian, but I don't even think I'm doing that right."

She places a little tape on his back to hold the the gauze up then runs her hands through his hair. "You do have a purpose. You make me happy and proud, seeing you've came to be the strong man and great son I knew you'd be. I'm pretty sure Izabel and Zay will always need you; you've grown to be on of their parental figures. And lets not forget, your precious Ally. You're more than just a guardian and even boyfriend to that girl."

The blond gives a small smile to his mother before standing. He was the a little bit tall than his mom yet she could still remember when he was in diapers. Smiling, Austin reaches over with his good side and hugs his mom. "Thank you, mom. You always know how to cheer me up."

"Eh, it's nothing," she says, causally, kissing his cheek. The blonde woman pats his chest before ushering him to the door of the emergency room of the castle. "Come on. I think you need to speak with the guards about the attack."

Austin nods and slips on his shirt before he comes out of the room, looking down the hall. Before he could realize and react to how it was, Izabel was hugging his side. His bad one. He groans and gently pushes her off, squeezing his eyes shut. "Sorry!" She exclaims, covering her mouth as she stood back. "I-I was just worried and I found about the-the attack and---"

"Izabel, it's fine," Austin sighs, reaching over to hug her side. He places a kiss on her forehead and sighs out a breath. "How was your tournament?"

"Forget my tournament, Austin! What happened?" Izabel asks, walking with him down the halls and to the main room.

"Someone came to Ally and I's room and one of the bastards burnt my side."

A guard spots them and comes toward to the two before bowing slightly. "The princess is holding a council meeting. She requested you be there."

Austin nods and looks all over the room, not spotting his brunette beauty. "Where's Ally?"

The guard ensures him she's speaking with the princess and both Austin and Izabel's eyes widen slightly.

Ally and Princess Kim did not get along. Not one bit. See, no one really took notice in Austin (he just was the weird kid who stared at the glass; people were waiting for him to die) until the night of her welcome festure, where she had first kissed him. Some people, girls specifically, noticed him a bit too much for Ally's liking.
