It's been 9 years since we've been living with Carlos, Nate and I have been extremely grateful for everything he has done for us. Carlos took us in, provided for us, and gave us everything we wanted.

He was a kind man, although he had a dark side to him that you only see when it concerns his business, what is that may you ask? He owns a few underground rings where he holds countless underground fights. He never lied to us about what he does, so we in return never lied to him about our past and who we were.

I told him all about my mother and family and who they were. When I told him I'm the Italian Mafia's daughter, I could tell he was scared, considering my family has a reputation. Still, he looked after us, treated us like his own children.

Over the years he taught us both how to fight, he was genuinely surprised at how much I already knew, he just helped me clean up my techniques. Nate on the other hand was a different story, Carlos spent extra time teaching him. Nate was appreciative of the extra lessons, he always felt like he should be the one protecting me, not me protecting him.

When we turned fifteen, Carlos finally let us enter the underground with him and let us participate in the fights. Nate and I started a name for ourselves after our first fights and dominated. I called myself Diavola and Nate called himself Wrath, after making a name for us, Carlos introduced us to his brother Marcus.

Marcus had an agency where he hires young teenagers with nothing to lose and trains them into deadly assassins. He always said, "who suspects teenagers to kill grown men? Teenagers are always underestimated." It was the perfect cover for Marcus, no one ever knew who worked for him or how many.

I looked up to Carlos as a father figure, whereas Nate always looked up to Marcus as a father figure. I think it's because Marcus could teach him more, so they spent more time together.

Soon, Nate and I became the top assassins in Marcus's agency. I never told Marcus who I was and I told Carlos to say nothing as well. I trusted Marcus, I did. That is why I never told him, I didn't want him to get hurt because of who I am. If my family ever found out I worked for him, they would kill him without hesitation.

You see, working for the agency they have to break you down mentally and physically, they torture us, so when and if we get caught we never break.

It might be sick, torturing your own, but it was with good intentions. They never took it too far but explained possible ways the enemy might.

"Are you fighting tonight Nate?" I questioned Nate.

"No, Marcus said he has a mission for us tonight. Quick and easy." He rolls his eyes, I scoff, "when is it ever quick and easy Nate? We always end up in a massacre." He bellows out a hearty laugh, "I have to agree Val, do you know how many clothes I've had to throw out because they were stained with too much blood."
