I feel like I've interrupted a family moment, walking in on them in a group hug. I probably should have waited but that could have been even more awkward, now that they're all looking at me I continue to rock on my heels.

"Nonsense Xavier, you're not interrupting," Val says, a small smile gracing her lips.

"I beg to differ," Dom grumbles, glaring at me.

"Fuck up Dom!" Val snaps, "we were just giving Gio his gifts."

"Gio? I thought it was your birthday?" I ask, confused.

"We're twins." She shrugs like it's no big deal. Standing here looking between the two I guess I can see it, surprised that I didn't pick up on it earlier.

"Oh — Uh if I had known I would have got you a gift as well Giovanni, I'm sorry." I awkwardly say.

"No problem." He waves me off.

I walk deeper into the room to give Valentina her gift but Messiah stands in front of her protectively, making me freeze.

"Don't be rude Messiah, we've talked about this," Val says, slapping his shoulder then pushing him to the side, grabbing her gift bag from my hands.

"It's nothing special, I didn't know what to get, to be honest. I haven't bought a gift for someone before." I explain but before she opens it, she raises a brow at me and I shrug.

When she sees what's inside she gasps, "you've booked in a tattoo appointment for me today? Oh my god — thank you!"

I'm glad she likes it, I noticed she didn't have any tattoos whereas her family and brothers all have some sort of ink on them. Looking around though I notice her brothers scowling at me, not happy with the gift idea but I shrug it off.

"There's one more thing in there." I remind her, as she stops rambling on about what tattoo she should get.

She looks back in the bag and pulls out a box, she opens it and gasps again, "a Rolex watch, wow — they're very expensive Xavier, you didn't have to."

"Nonsense, I noticed you weren't wearing one and they're always handy to have," I say, holding up my wrist displaying my own Rolex.

"Well, thank you. You didn't have to get me anything at all, I appreciate it." She smiles, a small smile tugging at my lips.

Well, that went way better than I thought it would, like I said I've never bought anyone gifts before not even my parents. We've never celebrated birthdays or Christmas, we've never celebrated anything.

Valentina's aunt calls out for us all to head into the kitchen to have breakfast, hesitating I walk in the direction before her grandfather grabs my shoulder stopping me in my tracks. Her brothers look back and smirk at me, probably thinking I'm about to die.

"A tattoo?" He questions, disbelief all over his face. Lorenzo behind him with the same expression, they're not happy.

"Uh —" I awkwardly begin, "yes?" I state but more of a question, not certain how to answer.
