Wonwoo's POV

An obsidian night witnessed the moon shining in full glory tonight while I was covering the miles moving back to Seoul after visiting my hometown.

Driving at night is no big deal to me. I've heard tales of deers and bucks roaming on the highway at night. They might give you a jumpscare by suddenly emerging from the bushes, but would take no extra measure as to attack you.
Humming to a song recently stuck in my head, I look back upon my day; how my father told me I came a long way in this idol world.
My mum handed me a word out two about not trusting people easily and all, but I know I'm not so naive anymore.
I have good instincts of understanding one's character and even if I meet an absolute stranger someday, I wouldn't hesitate to put up a genuine conversation with them.

My ride was going smooth. It actually helped me forget about the fact that I was hella hungry.
Suddenly the car lights flickered and something in the distance, became nearly visible.
I slowed down my car to get a better look at it.
"Is that a deer?", I calmed my insides after the unforseen jumpscare.

As if it was running nearer, the object hinted at being a manly figure...more like womanly.

"Please help me.. They.. They're after me.. Please.. Pl-", she pleaded with joined hands.
I was taken aback by the sudden intrusion as a woman in her twenties, knocked on my glass.
She wore tattered clothes and had rashes on her face.

"Please take me from here..", she almost cried as she stuttered.

Knowing that a woman at this hour wouldn't be deceiving me about something like this, I did not hesitate to provide her a lift.

"Get in the car", I opened the door for her without getting out.

We drove silently towards Seoul while she lay low, maybe in case someone saw her.
I noticed a blood stain on my car seat where she rested her back previously.

Handing her a water bottle, I asked, "Are you okay? Who were you running from?"

Silence engulfed us as she sat lifelessly on the seat, before weakly saying,
"They.. My brother and his friends...they found me...they were chasing after me"

The fear in her voice was audible as she managed to tell her epilogue.
The ride remained silent for the next two hours with small broken introductions in between.
She neither smiled, nor cried ever since she stepped into the car.

"Let's stop at this motel" I suggested after we came 3 miles ahead.

She agreed.
.
.

"I'd like two rooms please", I called out to the receptionist.

He squinted at me with a strange look on his face.

I felt a tug on my t-shirt and as I looked around, the girl said to me,
"Can we please stay in one room.
I'm scared they will find me."

I nodded at her, "Umm one room please"

The receptionist handed me the keys and I went towards the said room with the anonymous girl trailing behind me.
She was quiet, probably because of the trauma she faced, yet attractive somehow.
The way she tucked behind a strand of her open hair behind her ears.

I shook my mind off her and went inside.

"Please feel free to wash up, I'll fetch us something to eat.",
I decided to give her privacy.
.
.
Walking out of the bathroom, she saw me setting up a pizza and water bottles, for the both of us.

While eating we talked about our lives, rather than the incident, and she didn't fail to capture my mind.
I felt comfortable with her, as if I could be friends with her.

When we were about to go to sleep, I said, "If you mind, I can sleep on the floor"

"No no.. The floor is hard cold", she said with a worried look.

"How do you know? Haha. It's okay I can just sit on this chair and sleep", I said.

"I just know.. Sleep here...with me"

"I mean just sleep... I still feel scared.", she honestly said.

I felt sympathy towards her and agreed.
The beautiful moon shone upon us from the window as I caressed her head quietly.
For a moment, she looked up at me when I was looking straight into her eyes.
In the heat of this intense moment, wherein, I hesitated, she closed her eyes moving forward.
I got mesmerized by the smell of fresh soap and proceeded to place my lips on her lips, deeping the soft kiss.

It felt as if I was tasting heaven, she was bittersweet, some bitterness in her reality, yet sweet as honey.
The kiss felt tingling to my senses and I couldn't stop just at that.
I left a trail of kisses down her neck, and she too, seemed to be enjoying it.

The night was beautiful after all.
.
Next morning when I woke up, she was missing from my arms.
I got up to see if she was in the bathroom or outside, but there was no sign of her.
Perhaps I took it too far on the first time.

My eyes stopped at the sight of a blood stain on the bed again.

"Could it be..."

"no no I'm sure..."
I ran towards the reception with my stuff and inquired about the man last night.
"Did you rest well?", he asked.

"yeah.. I just wanted to know about the girl who came with me last night.. Did she perhaps, leave?"

"What girl sir?
.
You came here alone last night.
Although it felt weird when you asked for two rooms for a single person..
but -"

"what nonsense.. She was with me", I counter argued.
I picked up an old newspaper to distract myself but I was bewildered to see the face of the girl from last night.
"WHO IS SHE?", I aggressively asked.

"poor lady, she was murdered in this motel two years ago...by her own brother.
They said she was stabbed to death and died from bleeding too much.
May she rest in peace", he sighed in despair.

"perhaps... Is her name.... Y/n?", my hands were trembling by now.

"It says right there sir"
