Into the 5 Seconds

My steps oddly fasten as I make my way down the road. Work has already imbibed all my energy but my instincts, nevertheless, are extraordinarily active.

It is so because I will tell you one thing about my trip.
There is something off about my ambience tonight.
As for me, I don't tell brethen about my profession so I'll keep it a secret from you too;
But what I can assure you of is that
I am certainly omniscient about everything going around here.

They might see me as vacuous or dense but I have something they fail to cognize.

As my steady steps walk along this well kept road, my eyes are able to discern an unusual flickering lamp post, concealing a secret I can easily apprehend.
It is my ability after all.

How presumptuous of the spy positioned behind the oddly rusted pole to assume that I don't see him.

"Don't look at him", I lower my gaze as if I am unaware of his presence.

I halt for a second on the zebra crossing, cars waiting in front of me, waiting patiently lest they should crush me into the asphalt in another six or seven seconds.
The piercing grit crumbling under my feet could have bruised my soles if it weren't for my sturdy boots.

Although there is darkness corrupting my senses with the only exception of absurd patches of streetlights out of which two are flickering with an interval of three seconds each.
Believe me when I tell you, I have keen observation skills because of my abilities.
It is for, I posses something they don't know about.

Now to reveal my observational skills, I now disclose to you about how this middle aged man has been following me since the last seven minutes.
Although I usually see him near my abode, occasionally trying into befriending me.
Little does he know, I already know his catastrophic intentions.

I have always presumed that most people breathing the same air as me did never even notice me simply existing in this society,
But when I delve deeper and look closely, I see how many people are bent upon hearing a rumor or catching a glimpse of what I carry.

In all truth, I confess that I am in no possession of any weapons for now ;
Because if I did, I would have already buried these assassins near the obsolete cementary about three miles down this road I'm walking;

But I'm not that of a bad person.

Once again I eye my surroundings like a fox. Truthfully, only a few seconds have passed since I am standing on this striped pavement.
I'm guessing four since the green beam has still not changed into crimson.

As I am about to take another step, my eyes fall upon the uncanny man suspiciously strolling around the corner of the upcoming pavement alongwith his ferocious-looking German Shepherd;
Both lethally staring at my figure.

Judging from the way he is loosely holding the beast's leash,
I'm pretty sure that if I don't make my way out of here fast,
he will restrain his hound in pretence of utmost surprise thereby leading me to my demise.

The beast surely will dismantle my flesh.

It has only been five seconds since I'm standing on a patch of loose asphalt and I have also somehow managed to peep into the eyes of the suspicious driver in front of me in his Range Rover.
I can clearly notice how he aggressively cracks his head from side to side.

"Don't look at him", I say to myself.

He seems to be in their team too, assigned to rid earth of me.

It's not hard to guess why they all wish to assassinate me.

After all, I have something they know nothing about.
Paranoia.
