As Colton pulled back the door opened.

"Ash... Look I'm... " Jacob came and stopped when he saw that me and Colton were a few inches apart.

"Jacob." I said and turned to him. "Jacob don't." His eyes were turning bright red.

"You touched my mate... " Jacob growled out. He walked towards Colton. I jumped out in front of Colton. "Stop protecting him, Ashley!"

"he's my friend Jacob!" Jacob sighed running his hands down his face.

"Colton get the hell out." Jacob growled out not looking at us. Colton growled slightly but left. Banging the door loud on his way out.

Jacob sighed and sat on the bed. He put his head in has hands. I walked to him and pushed him up sitting on his lap.

"Jacob.. I love you and only you." I kissed his lips gently. I said it. I told Jacob that I loved him. And honestly it felt good to say it. I did love him. He filled me with so much joy that I can't even imagine life without him.

He cupped my face with his hands and smiled. "I love you too, Ash." he kissed me so passionately that I felt it go everywhere throughout my body. When we seperated I nuzzled my face on the crook of

I didn't know what to do. you kept yelling my name and it's just... I was scared I was losing the mate bond with you."

"Don't worry Jacob I'll always be here for you." We were leaning in to a kiss when my stomach rumbled. Jacob laughed and I playfully hit his chest."Don't laugh."

"come on your hungry." we got up and headed downstairs. As we made it into the kitchen we bumped into the alpha.

"Zane." Jacob said with a sternful nod. Zane looked from him to me. His eyes lingered to long on me.

"I see that you up and well." the alpha said. I smiled and nodded. Not knowing what to say. "How long was she out?"

"About a week. Shes hungry so we are leaving." Jacob said and tried walking past him but Zane stepped in front of him blocking the entrance.

"Y'all can eat in the bonfire. It's in 20 minutes. It's by the beach." Zane said it to seem more like a command than a welcoming.

"I guess it won't be so bad... " Jacob said glancing at me in approval. I nodded.

With a goodbye we headed back upstairs to change. I put on shorts and a blouse. I put my hair in a ponytail. I added just a bit of lipstick and mascara. When I was ready Jacob was in the bed with just shorts. His naked chest begged for me to slide my hand down it but I stood my ground.

I narrowed my eyes. "That's what your wearing? Put on a shirt." I said crossing my arms.

"but it's hot!" Jacob argued back. He stood up and walked to me. "And anyways don't you like what you see." An eyebrow raised and he smirked.

"Yes and so will other unmated girls." I said with a hint of annoyance in my voice. Jacob chuckled and kissed me.

"Fine only because your so damn cute when your mad." He grabbed a shirt and pulled it on. We walked out to the backyard and through the forest until we could hear a lot of yells and music blaring.

"Ashley... Can I ask you something? " He put his arm around my shoulder and I wrapped mine around his waist.

"you can ask me anything Jacob." I said with a smile.

"What do you think of our Alpha Zane?" He asked, a but of curiosity rolled through his voice.

"Hmm... The Alpha... Well he seems okay. But he seems so uptight. And the way he stares at me freaks me out." I said a matter of factly.

"Oh." He said looking away from me and into the ocean. "Wanna take a swim?" He smiled like a little five year old. I shook my head slowly. Reject flashed across his face.

"I... I can't swim.." I said I felt useless. I mean who doesn't know how to swim? Everyone should know that and I mean everyone.

Come on I won't let nothing happened to you." Jacob said tugging me towards the water. I shook my head laughing. He kept imploring so I finally said yes.

We ran to the water kicking off our shoes and clothes. Jacob stayed in only boxes and I with my bra and panties.

I knew I could trust Jacob to help me if I were to drown but inside I knew I didn't trust myself.
