(REWRITTEN)

Y/n walked to where haru had dropped her off last time, the faint sound of crickets filling the silence the moon and faint twinkle of the stars illuminating the sky. The breeze ruffled her h/c hair making her push it away from her face with a slight scrunch of her nose

"Sorry for keeping you waiting I got lost" Haru's calm voice rang out as he approached her, his footsteps even but quick as he closed the distance between them, she hummed in acknowledgment offering a small smile in greeting which he returned

"Come on" his hand casually slipped into hers as he pulled her in the direction he wanted to go in, a hint of warmth spread over her cheeks warming her ears as she let him lead her once they arrived she lifted an incredulous eyebrow

"You set this up?" She questioned gesturing to the small picnic he had thrown together, he nodded with a nonchalant shrug his hand releasing hers as he sat down patting the free spot on the opposite side of the sweet treats for her to do the same

"I only brought dessert hope that's alright" he said passing her a tub of (favorite flavor) ice cream" she gave him an amused look taking it, and the spoon "you remembered my favorite flavor?" She vaguely remembered saying it in passing and with how aloof he was she didn't expect him to remember it

"I remember everything you say" he said causally popping the lid of his own tub of ice cream and taking a large scoop placing it into his mouth, she paused for a moment at the confession before taking a bite of her own her heart fluttering in her chest

She glanced at the sky, it really was a pretty night "it's pretty out" Haru snorted adding in a teasing tone "should I say something as cliche as not as much as you" she huffed in amused annoyance

"You do know I'm engaged right? You can't keep teasing me and taking me on mini dates" she grumbled in an attempt to hide how flustered she was "you can love who you want, and it clearly isn't him, even if it isn't me you deserve to learn that you have your own freedom" he said a hint of genuine emotion in his voice

She paused her eyes on him "it's not that easy" she murmured she wished it was but her parents wouldn't never accept that mindset, Haru glanced at her his eyes softening slightly "yeah, I get it"

The heavy silence fell over them before he took another large spoonful of his ice cream "let's just enjoy the stars and forget about all the other stuff yeah?" He said leaning back casually before noticing the slight goosebumps that rose over her arms and shrugged off his jacket holding it out to her

"You won't be cold?" She questioned skeptically as she gingerly took the clothing "no" he replied back simply before relaxing again, she slipped it on and relished in the warmth that it provided she laid back tucking her hand behind her head eventually the serenity of the night caused her eyes to droop before succumbing to sleep

Hatasuharu watched her as she fell asleep releasing a small chuckle before turning his attention back to the sky, he knew that he was also wrong for what he was doing, by hanging out with her he was dragging her into his mess

As selfish as it was he couldn't help but want her near, her presence like a soothing balm on a burn, as it got later he turned gingerly brushing a strand of hair from her face "y/n" he murmured trying to wake her from her sleep

She released a small grumble curling into herself slightly as she continued to sleep, he chuckled in response "guess we are staying here tonight" he murmured letting himself drift off as well

The morning seemed to come quickly, y/n grumbled as she sat up wiping her eyes as the sun shone on her making her squint as she adjusted and pushed wayward strands of hair from her face

She jolted as she noticed a cow "a cow...?" She quested as she sat up and ran a hand over the cows head "are you lost or something" she asked it but she didn't notice any tags on its ears, the cow watched her with seemingly intelligent eyes

"Maybe I should- AHH" she adverted her gaze as smoke appeared and then a very naked haru her cheeks flared as she turned away her mind barley comprehending that he had just untransformed from a cow and the fact that she was now here naked

"You can look now" she turned hesitantly and gave him a once over he still looked like regular haru. Her eyes squinted as she tried to figure out the optical allusion because this must be a joke right? She glanced at him "where's the cow?"

"I was the cow" he said plainly as he gathered the things her eyes widened slightly she didn't want to believe it but at the same time there wasn't really any other explanations "how is that even possible" she said a slightly breathlessness to her tone

After a long walk back to her house and a painstakingly unbelievable explanation she had finally come to terms with the fact that one the zodiac curse was real, two haru is part of said curse and three she had made a fool out of herself and kyo the cat was quite literally kyo the cat

But she couldn't deny that she enjoyed his presence, her eyes fell on him as they continued to walk, a flutter in her chest and maybe it wasn't all that bad after all
