Nobody knew why it happened. It just did. They woke up one morning. And the sun wasn't there. Scientists couldn't explain it. The earth was turning. The sun was still in space. Yet down on the surface, an eternal night canvassed the sky.

It was bizarre at first, going about your day as if nothing was wrong. But what were people to do? The world wasn't ending. Life must go on.

People became numb to it. A sunless sky was normalized. "Who needs the daytime anyway?" they asked.

Then one day it suddenly came back. And nobody seemed to care.
