The boy was excited to make his breakfast in the morning. He took out the carton, picked an egg, and got ready to crack it when he heard something chirping softly inside. The boy shook it gently just to make sure. Then the shell popped open and a little chickadee poked its beak out. The boy couldn't believe his eyes. The baby chicken spread its wings, pushed away the shell, and flopped onto the counter. The boy laughed. He had never seen something so darn cute. Scrambled, he named it, and the two of them became the best of friends.
