Nobody ever thought it could happen. The system was too big to fail. But one day it did. The internet broke down.
The effects were felt the instant it happened. Humans everywhere went into a panic as social media wouldn't update and porn sites couldn't load. No new emails or text messages. It was like the world went quiet.
But disaster went beyond the personal. It went global. Hospital systems and government infrastructure failed. Transportation abruptly stopped. Civilization grounded to a halt, replaced by anarchy and terror. We built our society around technology. When it went away, so did we.
