You woke up around 3:00am to the start of a rattle beside you.
It was your phone.
You sat up, rubbing your eyes.
You had smudged your makeup all over your hand, forgetting you still had it on.
"Aww, crap." You whispered loudly.
Shawn moaned beside you, turning sides in his sleep.
You looked over at him, then back at your nightstand to grab your phone.
You unlocked it and went through your notifications.

It was a reminder notifications from your "Reminder" app.
It stated "1 Year Clean".
You were clean... For a year.
You smiled at your phone, lowering the brightness.
How proud you were of yourself. Shawn was the reason... His pride in you was the reason. How much support you had by your side with him there.
There was nothing to worry about anymore.
Problems weren't put onto your skin...
They were covered up by Shawn's love and effection.
He was your guardian angel.

You locked your phone, placing it on the table beside you.
It made a big thud.
Shawn twitched beside you, awakening slowly.
"Y/N???" his raspy voice asked.
His armed moved, searching for your waist.
"Shh shh shh, yeah. Go back to sleep". You whispered in his ear.
"What are you doing,... Up?".
His eyes squinted.
"Nothing.. My phone just woke me up, that's all."
Shawn nodded and grabbed your waist close to him.
"Im cold".
You smiled and bit your lip.
"Me too." You replied.
He snuggled his head in your neck and kissed it.

"Go back to sleep babe".
His warm breath hit your neck.
"I can't".
"Why?" His head perked up.
"I'm.. Not tired".
His face changed and he could tell that you were bullshitting him.
"Aha, you're funny".
He threw a pillow at your face.
"It's true".
You rolled yourself onto him, kissing his lips.
He smiled.
He looked into your eyes.
"Y/N, what day is it?"
"The 14th of March..Why?"
He smirked and leaned into your lips again. He let go and wrapped his arms around your head, tucking you into his neck.
"I'm proud of you baby".
He knew... He remembered. How?
It shocked you. He was amazing.
You couldn't stop smiling....

Your whole heart & stomach was striking of butterflies.

"Me too Shawn... I couldn't do it without one thing though.."
You looked up at him.
"And what is that?"
He asked, tickling your waist.

"You.... My ride or die".

He smiled and rolled you over.
"It's my job... Were in this together".
You smiled.

The sentence escaped his lips as he tucked himself back in bed, while wrapping his arms around you.
He mumbled it quietly, trying not to let you hear it.

.. But you did anyways.

"Never letting you go. Ever".

He was your guardian.
