"And the reason?"

He glared at her but Namae deviated from his gaze. He opened the envelope and started reading the letter.
"Sei Namae. I heard from your manager that you are great at your job. He also said you're an important individual from his team. Why leave?" He grinned
'Why the hell is he so persistent?'
"I-"
"Or is your pay not enough?" He cut her off.
When she heard the word pay, Namae had this urge to say yes out loud.
"It's not about-"
"I'll triple your pay if you stay. We need more employees like you."
Namae knew that she was good at her job but why the sudden offer?
There must be a reason for this.
Maybe this is a test.
If she reject his offer maybe she won't get out of this company alive.
He must be doing this because he saw her with the heroine earlier.
