Electricity

Never-ending. The pain was never-ending. I passed out a few times, but even in my unconscious state, I could feel the electricity. It didn't stop until what felt like hours, but I knew was only minutes.

I heard bits and pieces, but my brain couldn't process what it all meant. Fighting, Steve, Zemo...

Steve was... begging Zemo... for the trigger. Instead of it stopping, it got worse. I didn't think I could scream any louder... it wasn't physically possible. I just wanted it to be over.

More shuffling and Zemo told Steve to 'fetch'. Sam... Sam was here...

The intense burning in my body finally stopped and I laid sobbing on the floor. Every so often I would jerk with the aftershocks. Everything hurt. Everything was raw and oh-so painful.

"Sammee!" Sam yelled over my crying. His hands were hovering over me, but not touching me. He was afraid to. "Shit... I don't- I don't know what to do." He admitted. I could finally understand what he was saying and a single thought came to my head.

"Go." I gasped out. My voice was completely shot.

"What?" Sam asked, horrified. He didn't want to even acknowledge my words.

"Run... away." I said between sobs. I was shaking badly, probably shock... ha, shock...

"I can't- I won't just leave you here." Sam protested and I cried a little harder.

"Help... Steve... please..." I needed him to listen. I didn't have enough mental strength for this right now. He needed to get out of the building before the perimeter was set. He needed to run.

"I-" Sam huffed and got up. "Tony will be here soon." He told me and pulled out his phone while running away, out of the building.

When he was finally gone, my sobs got louder. I was practically hyperventilating. When guards finally found me, they picked me up. I screamed when they grabbed me by my arms and pulled me up. I couldn't stand, so they dragged me out of that room and into an elevator.

"Shut up." One of the guards grumbled at my crying. I tried, I really did, but I couldn't. They ended up ignoring me for the rest of the elevator ride and when the elevator dinged, they dragged me off. I was now in a large space filled with offices. I was brought into an empty interrogation room and dropped into a chair. My guards ignored me when I collapsed forward onto the small table.

When they reached the door, I felt another short, intense shock and screamed. The two guards laughed as the shock stopped.

"Oops, my bad." One said as they both left the room.

I didn't know how long I sat there for. Long enough for my loud sobs to become small whimpers. The door finally opened and three people walked in. I didn't have the strength to look up and see who it was.

"Sammee!" Tony yelled and rushed to my side. I cried out when he touched me and Tony immediately let me go. "What? What'd I do wrong?"

     I didn't answer, I couldn't.

"What the hell did you do to her?" Tony asked one of the other two in the room,

"We found her like this." Some man I didn't recognize said. He had a thick, German accent.

"What that woman needs is a doctor!" Another person said... wait, was that... Everett Ross? He was the CIA agent that ended up working with Wakanda.

"Once she answers my questions, she'll be transferred immediately." The only one I didn't know said.

"Are you crazy?" Tony asked, stepping forward.

"Careful, Mr. Stark. You signed the Accords, if you do anything reckless, you'll be in violation."

Tony didn't answer, but I could feel the tension.

"Good, now, miss, tell me where the Winter Soldier and Captain America went, and you can leave."

I, like Tony, didn't answer him, which he did not like.

"Where are your friends, Ms. Smith?" He asked again, leaning over me.

"See, she doesn't know. Now, let me take her to a-"

"No, she knows." The deranged man said. I felt fingers thread through my hair before tightening and pulling my head up.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
Tony told him. The man stopped.

"And, why not?" He asked.

"She's got a pretty protective fiancé." Tony shrugged. The man scoffed and ignored him.

"Where is your friend?" He demanded me. I just looked at him with a tear-stained face and dead eyes. He was so close that I could smell his afternoon cigarette. He sighed heavily and let my head go. "I really did not want to resort to this." He pretended to sound apologetic before my body was shot with pain. I shrieked. I just wanted to die at that point. I felt like I was on fire.

There was a lot of shuffling before the pain stopped. Tony had charged, who I assumed was the General, while Agent Ross grabbed the remote and turned the device off. I was back to sobbing. Gone were the weak whimpers.

"Oh, god..." Agent Ross whispered. Tony had knocked out the General and came over to me, moving my hair away from my left shoulder to see the disc.

"Damn it." Tony sighed. "I'm so sorry, Skydive. I'll get that off of you, I promise. And this asshole will pay." Tony said, gesturing to the unconscious man. I wanted the pain to go away. I wanted...

"Loki..." I said. I wanted my fiancé. He might be able to heal me, make the pain go away.

"You want- right he can heal you!" Tony bent down and quickly picked me up. I cried out as my nerve endings ignited from his touch. "I'm sorry, I know, I know." Tony cooed as gently as he could. "Where are they keeping him?"

"Office up one more floor." Agent Ross bent down to the general. "Here's the key." He told him. "Let's go."

Tony was trying not to jostle me while practically running to Loki. He almost kicked the door down once Agent Ross showed him which room it was.

"Stark, what-" Loki started to say in an annoyed tone until seeing me. "Get the cuffs off! Get them off, Stark!"

Tony laid me on the table and the contact made me lose my breath completely. While Tony had me, Agent Ross ran to unlock Loki's cuffs.

"Move." Loki hissed, shoving Tony out of the way. When Loki touched me, it actually soothed the burn. His hands were cool in temperature and I practically moaned. "I know, Love. I'll make it go away. I'll make it better." Loki said gently. His hands laid delicately on my skin, until they started to glow green with magic... and the pain went away. I sighed in relief, but the sudden change caused black spots to invade my vision. An extreme wave of exhaustion came over me and I couldn't tell if I fell asleep or passed out, but I didn't care.

I love this chapter. I don't know why, but I do.

Sammee has never had to deal with being electrocuted before. Shes used to getting hit, but electrocution? Nope!

Wonder how Loki will react...
