Sammee's POV

Gamora was holding me up, being as careful as possible to not press on the burns, but it was impossible not to. They were around my entire body.

It never got easier, opening a wormhole to wherever Thanos wanted to go. I panted as I caught my breath. Breathing through exhaustion and pain. The planet we were on was dark with a single light source eclipsed by a moon.

Small rolling dunes stretched from where we were to the single, large, rocky mountain in front of us. The other rock formations were far off in the distance. There were pools of water in between all the dunes that reflected the red light. It would have been a pretty sight if it weren't for why we were here.

After I told Thanos what planet the Soul Stone was on, Gamora looked at me in thanks through her watery eyes. She didn't want to be the one to damn the universe and was somewhat glad that I took that responsibility. I didn't, however, know where on the planet the stone was located. That was where Gamora had to step in and guide us. I tried to get Gamora out of going with us, but couldn't tell him why. I wanted to give her a chance. A chance to escape with Nebula and live. But, of course, Thanos insisted she came with. He wanted his daughter there for his bullshit victory.

"Come, pet." Thanos told me. I glanced at Gamora and she slowly let me hold my own weight up. I walked up to his side, ignoring the hand Thanos held out for me. Gamora walked close behind, just in case. She knew she couldn't actually do anything. Thanos placed his hand on the back of my neck and guided me forward to look at the tall mountain. I grit my teeth from the burns he was touching on my neck. "Is that where the stone is located?" He asked me. I nodded and he moved his hand to pet the top of my head, almost lovingly if it wasn't so fucked up. "The stone had better be up there." He told us before turning to look at Gamora. "For your sisters sake."

"It's up there." I insisted, already started to cry over Gamora's impending death. "There's a opening, like a cave, that leads to where you want to go."

To get the Soul Stone, one must sacrifice someone they love. A soul for a soul. The only person Thanos loved, was Gamora, which was why I tried so hard to get her out of this. She had been so nice to me, and I was leading her to slaughter.

"Gamora should stay here." I told him. "Only two people can be up there at one time." I lied. Thanos turned to study my face before looking at the mountain again.

"No," he refused outright and lifted his fist.

I groaned as the chains appeared and I tried to fight against them. It was useless, it was always useless. The blue power of the Space Stone was forced out of me to create another wormhole. We reappeared at the base of the mountain and Gamora went back to supporting me. I hugged her close, tears falling down my cheeks. I wasn't ready to be alone with him again. I needed her with me. I couldn't do this alone anymore.

"I'm sorry," I whispered to her, keeping my eyes on Thanos to make sure he didn't hear. "I'm so sorry."

"It's ok." She assured me. "I would have told him given time. All you did was save my sister more suffering." Gamora explained. I looked away from Thanos.

"You need to run and hide somewhere he can't find you, now." I told her and tried to push away from her, but she held my hand tighter. "I'll make sure to tell Nebula you're here. But-"

"I'm here for Nebula." Gamora shook her head. "I'm not going anywhere."

"You don't understand." I whimpered softly. "You're how he gets the Soul Stone." I explained. Gamora stopped in her tracks and looked at me with wide eyes.
