Loki's POVWithin fifteen minutes, all of us going were on the Guardians ship. Rocket was piloting, much to my chagrin. Stark tried to come, made a huge scene about it, too. He wanted to be there when we got Sammee back, but he would only slow us down. After arguing with Rogers and Bruce, Stark collapsed to the ground. We got him to the infirmary and Bruce gave him a sedative, so he'd stay asleep and not try to follow us.
Now, I was on a ship with some 'first-time flyers' when it came to hyperspace. Some of us had to stay behind since there weren't enough seats. The ones that went were Thor, Rogers, Ms. Romanoff, Ms. Danvers, Rocket, Nebula, Gamora, and me. We had just gotten out of Midgards gravity when Rocket turned in his seat.
"Who here hasn't been to space?" Rocket questioned. Both a Rogers and Ms. Romanoff raised their hands.
"Why?" Rogers muttered quietly while Ms. Danvers chuckled, knowing exactly why.
"You better not throw up on my ship." He threatened and turned back around in his seat.
"Approaching jump in three," Nebula announced.
"Two," Gamora said.
"One," Nebula finished and suddenly we were in hyperspace. I couldn't see Ms. Romanoff's face since I was behind her, but I could see Rogers and I would have laughed if it weren't for the situation.
Colors moved quickly across the window into space. Stars and planets going by so quickly. It felt like we hit a wall when the ship stopped in front of Planet 0259-S. It had small rings around it, I noticed.
"Open the hatch." Ms. Danvers commanded. Gamora did as she said and Danvers unclipped her seatbelt to fly out into space. All I could see was a ball of fire until she stopped in front of us. "I'll head down for recon." She explained before quickly flying down.
The rest of us unbuckled our seatbelts and Rogers and Ms. Romanoff moved closer to the window to look at the planet. Nobody really spoke. It was hard to find anything to say that would comfort us.
"This is going to work, Steve." Ms. Romanoff told him, the first to break the silence.
"I know it will." Rogers answered immediately before looking at her. "Because I don't know what I'm going to do if it doesn't."
Rogers and I had the same thought. It had to work. There wasn't a future if it didn't work. I needed this to work. I needed her to be ok. I needed-
"No satellites. No ships. No armies. No ground defenses of any kind." Ms. Danvers interrupted my thoughts as she flew in front of the window. "It's just him."
"Then, we have our work cut out for us." Gamora sighed.
"Everyone ready?" Rogers asked us once he made it back to his seat. "Cause, if you're not... too bad." He told us before Rocket guided the ship down where Ms. Danvers directed him to place it.
We had a plan by the time we could see the hut through the trees. It would work, I knew it would. It had to.
"Alright, everyone get into positions." Rogers whispered to us, but we could hear him fine through the comms.
We quietly snuck up on the cabin Thanos walked into twenty minutes before. I was on the left side. My job was to keep Thanos from using Sammee to snap while Thor cut Thanos's arm off. Ms. Danvers was going in first, though.
I could hear him clanking around in there. Through the cracks in the wood, it looked like he was cooking over the fire in the middle of the room. I couldn't see much more of the room, so I didn't know if Sammee was in there, but I couldn't hear her if she was. Thanos stopped and looked up just before Danvers shot powerful fireballs at him. Thanos raised his hand in time to block, but he still grunted as it pushed him back a few steps.
