"Swimmingly," I told him sarcastically. "Just, don't worry about it. I have it under control." I told him. "Focus on your job."
After Odin had left the infirmary, I laid on the floor for another two hours. It was hard to stay still as I breathed through the power surge. Once it had settled, I was alright. I was able to get up and move about just fine. I also felt better than I had in years, probably since I had the Reality Stone in my veins. I spent the next two hours finding a place to hide the stone until I could get the locket. Gunnar said he would have it done as soon as possible, and I didn't want to rush him, but I needed it sooner than I thought I would.
"I always worry." Loki told me a bit harshly. My eyes snapped back to his and I saw the concern in his eyes. I placed a hand on his cheek and watched as he leaned into my touch.
"He just wanted to see my energy levels on the soul forge." I explained. "And they're already up." I said, making sure to choose my words carefully, so he didn't spot a lie. Loki nodded and turned his head to kiss my palm.
"I hate how he uses you." Loki mumbled.
"So you've said." I chuckled. "Come on, I want you to read to me." I said as I dragged him to the library.
The next week went by quickly. I had been spending a lot more time with Frigga since she would be staying here and not leaving with us. She knew about our plan and was helping us get everything we needed for our journey back to Midgard. She taught me a bit more Asgardian and we tended to her garden mostly. I would miss her when we left.
Gunnar came to the palace with a special delivery for me the day after the second ceremony. I wasn't at all drained since I had the Space Stone to draw power from. The locket Gunnar made was perfect. He even added some features that were brilliant.
The black, heart shaped locked opened on the side to put different stones in, but I would only be using it for the Space Stone. Beautiful swirling patterns formed the locket to show a bit more of the color of the stone inside. There was a small circular window in the middle for the stone to peak through. The best parts were that the locket actually had a lock that needed a key to open, and there was a small wheel on the other side of the locket that controlled how big or small the window was. If I wanted, I could completely cover the stone. The locket was incredible and the Space Stone fit beautifully.
Since I didn't need the sapphire anymore, I let Gunnar know to resell it, but still paid the full amount for it. Gunnar almost had a heart attack again and had to visit Eir before he left the palace.
Loki questioned the new necklace, but I told him it was something Gunnar made for me and he didn't ask much else. I did, however, confess to him that I kissed Hilde. He did not take that well until I showed him how I kissed her and explained what it really was. He seemed to somewhat understand, but still didn't like it. Loki never showed any anger toward me, but couldn't help being angry at Hilde, even though I kissed her.
It was now the night before our escape. Everything was set in place and Odin didn't know a thing. Our plan would work. I was sure of it. For now, Loki and I tried to relax in the library. It was a quiet environment that we loved. Loki softly read to me as he ran his fingers through my hair and down my back. I was tucked into his side with my back almost against the back of the couch. Loki's gentle touch caused butterflies in my stomach as I tried to focus. It didn't help that the book we were reading involved a heated make out sesh.
"You're squirming." Loki mumbled into my hair and pressed a kiss to my head. "Is my Kitten getting turned on?" He whispered in my ear. It only made me squirm more, despite for friction. It had been so long since we had sex. He was playing dirty and reached over to place the book down on the coffee table. "I can make it better." He told me and pulled my leg over him, so I was straddling him.
