Sammee's POV

I woke up with a headache like I did every morning now. Withdrawal sucked, especially when it was such a powerful drug. Eir had been a lifesaver throughout the whole thing, literally. Because I'd been needing so much help, my room was in the infirmary. They took one of the operating rooms and made it my room/medical room.

I stretched before sitting up and rubbing my eyes, trying to reach the pain behind them, but I never could. I wasn't nauseous yet, so that was a good sign. Maybe I could get food in me before I got nauseous and started throwing up.

A knock at the door pulled my attention away from my aches and pains, and I looked up. The door opened and Asa poked her head in.

"Good," she smiled, "you're up."

"Only just." I grumbled.

Asa had been my lady's maid since I got here, Queen Frigga's doing. She couldn't do much, but the little she could, she did. She thought it would make me more comfortable if I had a familiar face with me. And Asa went everywhere I went.

My mornings consisted of forcing breakfast down my throat, then forcing medicinal tea down my throat, and trying not to throw up for the next few hours. After that, Sif came to get me to start training.

I was handling training a lot better lately. When I first arrived a month ago, I couldn't stay awake for more that two hours. Now, I can at least stay up most of the day. I still get exhausted, though. Pretty easily, too. I was rebuilding my strength back up and I was doing a great job, but I lost my breath quickly.

Sif was a huge help. She was a patient teacher and tried her best to accommodate for me. She was teaching me sword fighting. She said it was the fastest way to get my strength and energy back, but I think she's biased. I did enjoy training again, even if it was difficult for me. I wasn't as weak as I was when I got out of that coma a few years ago, but my energy felt worse.

"You look better today than you did yesterday." Asa told me as she shut the door behind her. I was sick all day yesterday. My stomach just wouldn't hold anything down. Not even water.

"Yep, that's a plus." I agreed with a small smile.

"Let's get you dressed and ready for breakfast, then." Asa said with a sunshine-bright smile. I nodded and pushed myself off the bed.

The cold tile floor underneath my bare feet did little to wake me up more. Asa set out a few dresses for me while I brushed my teeth, did my business, and bathed. When I was done, I walked back into my room with a towel around me.

All the dresses Asa had laid out for me were different shades of purple. That had become my 'official color', but I didn't mind it. Purple was my favorite color and the dresses were beautiful... too bad I hated wearing dresses.

"Come on, Sammee. You know the Alfather doesn't want you in warriors clothing." Asa reminded me. "And, it could be worse." She told me.

She was right, it could be worse. Odin could have kept me chained up in my room. He could have revoked my training and fighting privileges. He could have thrown me in the dungeon like he did with his own sons.

"This one." I said in monotone and pointed at a dress. The dress was gorgeous. It faded from dark purple at the bottom to light purple at the top. It was a regency empire waist dress with mesh, light purple, long, flowing sleeves.

Asa helped me put it on before having me sit, so she could dry my hair.  Once my hair was completely dry, Asa styled it in an updo and added a small diamond tiara, another one of Odin's additions.
